He inherited a top 15 team with first round talent and is now 11-8 overall. 6-8 against P5 opponents. I would take Matt Luke at this point.

Didn't y'all lose most of that talent?

No he’s not. That title belongs to chad morris

Answer is Chad Morris.
Moorhead has a slight edge over Morris.

Matt Luke has taken a shitty situation and performed admirably considering the circumstances.

Arkansas will beat Mississippi State. Morris is better

Is it true that his family hasn't even moved to Fayetteville?

Chad Morris is still here

Chad Morris is like 0-20 against power 5.
This isn’t close. Morris might be the worst coach in division 1.

Ole Miss took a shitty coach and hired him 2 game managing coordinators to keep him in check. Very smart move on their part.

Moorhead is not SEC level. It’s too much for him.
He should go and be the coach at Rutgers. That’s more his speed. He can have a lengthy tenure there in Jersey by going 6-6 to 8-4 every year.

Matt Luke took over a program under some tough probation. Morris took over a broken Arkansas.
Joe had a very good team, Senior QB, a nasty Dline and did nothing with them.
Other two got the jobs because the previous staff left the program in the dumps. Joe got it cause the coach got hired by a bigger school so he walked into a substantially better situation.

Joe Moorhead is the worst coach in SEC history, and it’s not very close.

One of my good friends is a MSU fan and refers to CJM as “Sloppy Joe Shithead”
He will not let you call him by his actual name without correcting you.

I haven't watched many State games but yesterday they had a bigger problem with their players than anything else. We completely shut down their run game and had more sacks against them in the first half than we had total on the season.
We played super-conservative when Maurer got injured and JG was in and yet a short pass thrown to Tyler Byrd (whose best game in 4 years was yesterday - seriously, he's a special teams and blocking WR) turns into a fate sealing 39 yard touchdown. All we were trying to do was protect the lead/bleed clock and neither JG nor Byrd are known for bringing the thunder.
Coming off a bye State's players just didn't seem to have any energy. Everything they did, including bobbling the opening kick was sloppy. Some of that is on coaching but a TON of it is on their players.

I saw this stat today.
Moorhead is 2-6 in games that MSU is favored by 10 points or less.
My opinion doesn't matter, but he is not a good fit for MSU or the SEC and is unable to adapt like Mullen was able to. Mullen winning 9 games with Chris Relf as a QB should put him in the conversation for being one of the top coaches in the nation.
Mullen would have made a NY6 bowl with that team last year. Moorhead lost five games.
State is 3-3 with only 3 winnable games left. That 10 year bowl game streak is in trouble. Meanwhile, notice how Penn State is just rolling along without him.
