It looks bad for LSU because Foley and Sankey has been throwing us under the bus because we wouldn't let them have their way.

National media has absolutely failed on this story. The fact that Florida refused to play the game, citing player safety (this despite the fact that they allowed other sports team to travel and play) when everyone else was able to make it happen is a joke.

Florida and LSU both lost out in the end as we now have an insane November schedule and Florida lost the game. People can be dumbasses and point fingers all they want but if you honestly think LSU wanted to play 4 SEC teams in November, included 3 in short order, they are crazy.

What was the "fail/safe"?

Starting on the Tuesday before the game/hurricane Joe Alleva offered:

a) to play in Gainesville later Saturday night
b) to play in Gainesville on Sunday, even if LSU had to fly in Sunday morning and fly back after the game
c) to play in Gainesville Monday night
d) to play the game in Baton Rouge while he offered LSU planes and lodging for the Florida team

Foley flat out refused all options while Sankey was sitting in the SEC office eating his boogers.

Absolutely. Both sides have been retardes.

From LSU fans thinking they won this (who will be the same ones bitching at the SEC if we lose to Florida or A&M about how we had too many games in such a short time)

And Florida fans pretended like their AD acted in good faith (he absolutely did not and has shown his arse the entire process).

Both sides have been childish, even by rant standards.

What was BS was Foley saying on Thursday afternoon that he woke up to the news that that hurricane had changed paths and was now heading for them. The hurricane was predicted to follow the track that it did all week long. Then Foley cancels the game while every other team in Florida, South Carolina, and more played their game. Where was Sankey when two other SEC teams agreed to play on Sunday? Was Sankey not thinking, "Hey, why can't Florida do that?

Truth is, UF was very banged up and would have been missing several starters and they flat out did not want to play the game.

How do you know any of that really happened? Could just be message board BS.

Joe Alleva stated in his press conference that he offered every bit of those options to Florida the week leading up to the game. Neither Greg Sankey nor Jeremy Foley have denied that Alleva made those offers.

The only person to deny anything is that Alleva clearly stated that a news paper columnist put out a false article stating that Jeremy Foley tried to get LSU to move the game to Nov 19 in Gainesville. That conversation allegedly happened the weekend of the originally scheduled game and Joe Alleva said that Foley never discussed any other option other that "Saturday in Gainesville, 12:00".

Shows how dysfunctional LSU's Athletic Department is.

Looks as in others' perception of the situation and who did what. I said we as LSU fans don't give a crap about what anyone else thinks. Perception is meaningless in comparison with saved money and that home date and the positive economic impact on BR.

As for who came out of the situation with an advantage- yes, in that case, we do come out "looking better." That isn't what I was getting at in my pre opus comment.

Both sides lost something in this. Having to play 2 SEC games in 5 days. We have to go to UF two years in a row now. We still have to buy out USA, and I remain unconvinced that the SEC'a insurance will pay that, because the cancellation isn't a direct result of a natural disaster.

However, as far as how the two sides shook out, LSU lost a lot less in the end because Alleva played the game better and got the upper hand on the final decision. Saving millions of dollars and keeping that home date is NOT as insignificant as you make it out to be. Also, we could have been playing 2 SEC ROAD games in 5 days. At least that went in our favor in the end.

Advantage, yes LSU came out great. Almost as if you took advantage of the situation.

Are you dense? LSU offered multiple options of playing the game on the original scheduled weekend. Joe Alleva knew that there was no good option to play other than the week it was scheduled. It was Jeremy Foley who took advantage of the situation and the incompetent Greg Sankey who sat back and watched it happen.

So after getting screwed in the deal, Joe Alleva is just supposed to bow down to Foley in the name of "family" and say, "Sure, we'll cost Baton Rouge upwards of $10 million dollars (safe estimate of economy boost to the BR area for LSU home games) and upset the fine folks at South Alabama in the mean time"?

By most accounts, Alleva was a team player week one. Maybe Sankey and Foley should have worked with him instead of blowing him off.

So yeah. When the situation was in limbo, he got the upper hand and used it to LSU's advantage. Welcome to the world of multi-million dollar enterprises. It's not for the faint of heart.

I get what you are saying. But some others on here are to much fan to see the point.

Your AD did what he should do for his school and city. Just didn't look as good as some LSU fans think it looked.

Florida was never scared to play LSU. I'm glad Foley stood tall and LSU was dragged through the media for their childish antics.
