Put Harbaugh in the SEC at a LSU, FLorida, Bama, or UGA and he would be doing what Saban is doing.

At least.

When Saban was Harbaugh's age he was finishing up at Michigan State with a 34-24-1 record

Harbaugh is probably better at the NFL than Saban, yes. Does that make 21-0 and 21-17 any easier for your butthurt arse to swallow? No.

If anything, you should probably be wishing Saban WAS better at the NFL; if he was, LSU wouldn't be on the sudden and quite direct path to mediocrity right now b

So does that make you feel like a winner?

What about when Saban beats your best team ever, 21-0 on their home turf?

Still a win cause Harbaugh coulda beat you worse?

Better hope Harbaugh don't take Sabans place one day.

So a serious question, usually best asked after sleepy time: Bryant, Paterno, Osborne, Bowden never seriously entertained NFL offers, as far as I know. Switzer and Johnson both have a NC and a Superbowl. Are they better coaches than the aforementioned?

Ummm. Jim Harbaugh was 29-21 at Stanford...... Plus, at San Fran JH has Kaepernick, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, Frank Gore, and Randy Moss on offense. Nick Saban had Cleo Lemon......

Harbaugh better than Saban???

Yeah, I agree with this. Ain't anything to do with butthurt either. I think Harbaugh is the better overall coach.

Too bad Saban made Harbaugh quit the college game. Would have been interesting to see if Harbaugh could have competed at the highest level of college football and win a NC.

I don't blame JH one bit for taking the NFL money and running.
All of the other dogs must get tired of looking at the lead dog's arse all of the time.

Sounds like you have a hard time separating Nick Saban from the University of Alabama. Pretty sad.

Seems to me you suffer from this syndrome much worse than any "bammer" on this board.

Saban would much rather play with the big boys. He has already proven that he couldn't hack it. Nothing wrong with being the best at a lower caliber of football.

This. But the thread was started because certain LSU fans still can't let go of Saban. All that really matters concerning Saban is that he is far and away the best college coach in the country right now and his teams have won three of the last four national titles.

Exactly. As far as college ball, he's currently the best. Give him the best athletes and he will beat pretty much any other team. Just don't make him play, week in and week out, against teams that have the same caliber athlete.

Well he's paid to recruit the best athletes and to win with them, just like all other college coaches. Saban is just better than all of his peers. This thread is so pathetic. Yall have a decent coach too now, you should really move on.

Agreed. But for those comparing Harbough to Saban, it's a rediculous comparison. Saban is playing against teams that, for he most part, are athletically inferior, while Harbough is playing against teams of equal athletic ability.

Because teams like LSU, Arkansas, Georgia and Florida don't have talent anywhere near Bama's level, right?

P. S. Saban has beaten each of those teams at least twice in a row.

Draconian - congrats on getting no less than 30 script A's to drop out the trees to defend their lord and savior. It is my favorite part of the SEC Rant to see them falling out the trees with swords drawn

I believe Miles has also beaten those teams, including Bama, twice in a row. You can also throw ATM in there too. That's besides the point. Everyone already knows Saban is better than Miles. The point of the discussion was is Saban as good as Harbough.

But why are people doing that? What exactly is the point? It's like comparing Dave Van Horn to Ron Washington or something. They don't compete against each other in any way, shape, or form. It's pointless.
