he's right about the state of rushing in the NFL though.

What he said about the QB being the center of the league is correct. But, I do think TR is an excellent back. He has great skills. Will he be the best back in the league? I don't think so but he will be up there.

And I would venture to guess TR is faster than Brown ever was.
LOL no.
Though Brown is definitely wrong on this one. TR is anything but ordinary.

I hope Trent has a good first four years for his sake

Jim Brown best back ever, if Gale Sayers would not have gotten hurt however......

If Brown's rant keeps Trent out of Cleveland, Trent should send him a check.
Brown was great but his time has passed and he now comes across as a bitter old man.
Trent will go in the top 5 and make some team very happy.

Who was the old guy that had financial troubles, or drinking/drug troubles that was an NFL great at one time?
Was it Jim Brown?
I honestly can't remember.

Browns comments have absolutely no affect on where Trent is drafted.

Just imagine if he had decent blockers.

Walter Peyton? Hershel Walker?
Jim Brown just knocked his wife around a few times.

Today's NFL would have knocked the shite out of Jim Brown. Everything about the NFL is better than it was in in his day. It's faster, stronger, bigger, smarter than ever before.

From a Cleveland magazine:

Hall of Fame Browns running back Jim Brown might be the best football player to ever play the game. Off the field, he's more of a mixed bag, though. A mixed bag of misogyny, violence, arrests, and a mouth that won't stop. Case in point: Jim Brown Running His Mouth, Part 763, courtesy of his interview with ESPN Radio as the NFL draft gets closer by the hour. Pro Football Talk has the money quotes. Jim Brown isn't impressed by anyone, just so you know.

The old timers from back when, when what is now considered dirty was legal, would have literally destroyed TR or any RB from todays game. Maybe not Adrian Peterson or L. Blount. Blount would just knock them out with his right.

104.3 yds per game career
5.2 YPC career
Never missed a game
Led the league 8 yrs out of the 9 he played. Left the league at 29 yrs old as MVP of the NFL.
3 time NFL MVP.
He may have been as fast as TR, but someone called it when they said POWER. The dude was a tank. I hate the ERA arguments because it is difficult to really compare. Jim really shouldn't have weighed in on this as TR is a very good RB with similar combination of speed and power.

He would be a beast if he played today. Think of how much stronger he would be with modern nutrition and weight programs.
