Kent and Hensler were probably headed to LSU until Earley got job. Bear Harrison also made a visit to LSU, can’t remember if Earley had been hired at that point.

Their choices were hire Earley or watch all their talent transfer to their conference rivals. Screwed either way. They rolled the dice and came up snake eyes.

The real mistake would be not recognizing the situation and hitting the reset button in a couple months.

That’s the weird thing with these guys. Even the transfer guys were wanted by others. Did they just forget how to hit?

At the end of the day, the poster above me has it right. The real mistake would be to let this charade go beyond this year. Everyone loves a good A&M coaching search. Start getting your coach contract extensions ready.

Hogs don’t have to worry about contract extensions…

Early should fire the hitting coach and do it himself. Didn’t they hire the guy from the other Texas team last year? I seem to remember that offense being dog water as well

Yes we hired a really bad hitting coach. Brilliant choice by Earley.

So Early should just fire him and do it himself. He was great at that

Well if Earley was a good coach he might do something like that.

Though Kent was mainly a utility player for Schloss last year, I read on a few different boards that he was given the SS position. He has a mid-arm and doesn't "Wow!" you with anything on the field.

SS and CF are usually the most athletic guys on the field.

Also saw that he is the lead off hitter, and hasn't scored in an SEC game yet.

Kent's carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders.
