We will be a better basketball by March next season than we were in 2020. For sure. Well, assuming we didn't get bit by the injury bug or something unforseen.
I never get why fans want to make such bold preseason predictions in b-ball. Most teams are one injury away from drastically changing their season. If Powell doesn’t get concussed and is able to play along Cooper this past year, AU could have probably made a push for the regular season title or at the very least drastically improved their record. Instead, Powell never played again and Cooper couldn’t finish the season. AU finished the season playing a walk on and no point guard.

That's why I said, "assuming we don't get the injury bug".

Not to mention your most prolific 3 point shooter, who was also a damn good defender. And 2 stretch 4’s (even though they were role players these are more valuable than you think - especially with the offense Bama plays).

Bama beat one top 25 team this. I know this is hard to grasp but y'all were overrated af this year and any casual CBB fan knew it. The only thing surprising about Bama's postseason run was that y'all made it past the round of 32

Went into the tournament with the most Q1&Q2 wins in America.

Only top 50 NET team that didn’t play a Q4 game all year.

Goodman has never been a big fan of Auburn for whatever reason. However, too many unknowns right now with Auburn’s roster to put them in the top 25.

Despite losing Cooper Auburn has the potential to be a Top 25 team if y'all land a couple of the transfers y'all are after.

Despite losing Herb and Petty, Alabama still has the potential to be very good especially if 6'11" Alex Tchikou is as good as advertised, Bedaiko is signed, and Gary continues getting better. In fact,, Alabama's team next year has the potential to be very similar to Auburn's 2019 team in that we'll have very quick ball handling guars all over the court along with what should be a much improved inside game.

Alabama has 9 Sweet 16 appearances.

Auburn has 10 NCAA tournament appearances. Total.

I hope you stop acting like this by the time you turn 12 next year, son.

Primo and Ellis are the keys to our team next year. If they take a step forward, we're a Top 15 team. If they are what they were this year with more minutes, we're a Top 25 team. If they somehow both fall off the map, we're a bubble team. Ellis was playing at an elite level the last 15 games of the season on both ends of the floor - per the metrics he was our best defender in March (better than Herb). Primo flashed signs of his promise in multiple stretches. They both will be relied up on and have higher usage rates next year.

I think it's really as simple as that, to be honest. Shack and JQ are who they are, Davison will be a talented but raw freshman, Gary kind of is what he is. The wild card is Tchikou and whatever we add on the transfer market (Burnett and Gurley the most likely candidates). Primo and Ellis are high ceiling guys who played well this year, but they have to hit that ceiling for us to be really good.

We're going to be good - whether we are very good or up and down depends on growth of guys on the roster. The roster is deeper 1-10 then it has been in 20 years, though. They just have to figure out their roles and find the toughness that this group had as a unit.
