He just said Georgia said he was "too short". He never said they thought he was too short relatively to any position in particular. They could have thought he was too short for any position they were considering him for....who knows. LSU was stacked at d-line, and they needed a good FB. It worked out for both parties. It's awesome to see JC busting people up.

Im not taking some bet that you have thrown out there that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about. Especially since I would have very little chance of winning it.

Is this some Louisianan colloquialism Im not familiar with?

and it appears correctly, that he isn't able to play DL in the SEC.
How do you figure? Have you seen him try to play DL in the SEC? What if he personally went to coach Miles and asked for the switch because he enjoyed that position better?
It's not a big deal, but everyone here is attributing his position due to a lack of something somewhere, when that clearly isn't the only possible reason.

If he was good enough to play DL for yall, he would be.

copeland is probably sitting at home just thinking about this and raging, repeating to himself "ILL SHOW THEM! IM NOT TOO SHORT! IM NOT TOO SHORT! AHHHHHHHHHHHGFHVEHYFEJ."
All while studying for his calculus test this friday.

Normally, that argument would be very convincing. In this specific case, LSU has put defensive tackles in the NFL at an astounding clip. When you have Nevis, and Brockers, and Logan, and Downs, and Johnson, and Ferguson during that time period, you can only play two DTs at a time. Might as well get a freak athlete on the field.
fair enough. he's good at his current role and no one knows how good of a DL he would've been.

Why, Richt, WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO US? WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST OFFER HIM?!

I'm afraid there's nothing anyone can do about it.
It appears Richt has lost control of Copeland.

LSD fans got a good FB out of it. In reality you should thank the UGA coaches because he wanted to go there.
Since he was an 09 recruit, Willie "shite face" Martinez was the one that probably told he was too short.

His High School highlights were insane.
Fullbacks really aren't in high demand.

Im sure a lot of LSU players really wanted to go to Mississippi State, but they didn't offer.

Have to admit I only watched about a minute of that link, but it looked like a whole lot of missed blocking assignments than him actually beating his man. Rest of the tape may have been better, but don't care enough to watch it. If he was good enough to be on the D-line, then he would be there. He's apparently a better fullback.
