James Spann is an idiot. He told everyone on the west side of 59 they were fine in 2011. He also said it was going to monsoon last weekend, against state. Nobody knows until 24-48 hours before. FFS

He’s a Weather Entertainer. He’s going to milk this situation for all it’s worth.

Are you talking about during the Tuscaloosa tornado? That was due to an issue with their radar system. He has apologized for it and lamented it.

Well, it makes sense you see a meteorologist more during a significant weather event than when the weather is clear.

Yeah it’s really hard to say right now. If it dumps a ton of rain on the field you could play but a slop fest. If it slows down you have hurricane like rain and high winds. Not ideal.
NOAA updates every 6 hours. I’m watching tomorrow closely, if it’s close to making landfall Friday night like predicted and not anymore west I’d say it’s a toss up.
Another thing, a lot less people will travel to this game. You would need to leave Thursday at the latest and clear out late Sunday from all the remaining bands but what would the roads and areas traveling home possibly be like? Lots of questions.

By Thursday we’ll know more.period.
We’ve went from a tropical depression to a category 2 hurricane in a matter of 6 hours. Hell Jacksonville Florida has called a state of emergency along with 25 counties on the east coast of the state. I mean WTF?! It’s a money grab.
Some meteorologist have it being a category one tropical storm going west. Some have it going east. It’s all doom and gloom. Maybe should have given 12 trillion dollars to prevent these storms. Damn

Not for anything related to this system. This system originated in the Gulf and has never been considered a threat to the east coast of Florida.

Because there are differences in models and the meteorologists have been showing different possible solutions. Now that this is a tropical depression, the forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center is what everyone will use as the official forecast. Remember, there’s a difference between a computer model and an actual forecast.

I think they make the call Thursday morning to either keep the game on Saturday or move it to Sunday.
