it would have been absurd to fire him then. He asked for three years and we are giving it to him.

Other fan bases cannot say we took his legs out from beneath him.

He’ll probably beat the chiefs with one arm tied behind his back then throw 5 picks and put up 3 points against the saints one week later.

he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Maybe he's just giving props to a QB who slaughtered his middle of the road program twice.

Didn't seem like he was coached well or set up for success last year. Could just be a bad fit for the new coaching staff. Guess we'll see this year. He was at very least serviceable, if not good, Saban's last year.

Was DeBoer the problem with Penix?

He struggled reading defenses, and when a QB struggles doing that, the playbook gets very limited, and good defensive coordinators know it and pounce on it.

OP will figure out a way to take credit away from DeBoer, despite him being Penix's OC and HC for his entire college career.

When you look at the history of KD's offenses, he's had success with pretty much every QB he's ever coached in college. Milroe having no grasp of his playbook had to be frustrating for an offensive minded HC.

DeBoer was at Fresno State in 2020 and 2021.

34 of Penix's 48 games played in college had DeBoer as a coach, either OC or HC.

10,938 of his 13,741 career yards were under KD. 77 of his 96 TD's, etc.

Put him on the field and it will be a story, for sure. A Stephen King short story.
