Oklahoma is going to sacrifice Arnold right there on the field. Arnold doesn't have a chance.

Arnold vs Tulane early last year:

18/29 for 169, 1TD/1Int
14 carries for 97, 2 TDs

Then he started SEC play and was useless

Arnold last night vs Baylor

11/17 for 108, 0TDs/OINTs and 1 recovered fumble
16 carries for 137, 2 TDs

Jackson Arnold played exactly the way he played at Oklahoma (translation: the Auburn Oline and WR's did nothing to improve his passing stats).

There were a couple of games when his style, designed QB runs and taking off in a panic when the protection broke down on pass plays, worked.

His best game throwing the ball was the loss to Mississippi (22-31, 182 yds, 2 TD's).

Every other time his stats looked much like last night's.

His game needs more work.

I was more impressed with Auburn’s defense than their quarterback.

They are going to be a problem.

Their secondary sucked. Coverage breakdowns and poor tackling.

Not really.

He was recruited as a 5-star QB and so far at least his play has been anything but.

Heck, he was the Alabama champion last year so I got no problem with him doing well somewhere besides Norman.

We'll see how he fares against Venables defense soon enough.

Everyone on here is claiming Baylor was a must win for Auburn and Freeze. Baylor took away the pass and gave AU the run. Auburn ran the ball, scored 38 points, chewed up a lot of clock which helped a struggling defense and won by 14, Back in the stone ages when something was working you kept doing it until the other team stopped you. Now you all are bitching about th passing.

Let me throw this out to chew on - Arunda made his bones as a defensive coach. Even though AU was running all over him, he still feared the passing game to the extend that he did not stcck the box against the win.
