This shall be an interesting/entertaining game.

Up in Fayetteville the beer flows like wine and beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano

The last time LSU played in Fayetteville, Chester's was still open, Maxine wasn't yet on oxygen. Common Grounds was a boarded up building and the Bakery Building was still a bakery and the Laundry Building was still a laundry.

There was no Baum Stadium or Bud Walton Arena. MLK was 6th Street. Springdale was all white. Bill Clinton had not yet been sworn in as president, and grunge was brand new.

A lot has changed....wow.

This is why Arkansas fans are prideful of Fayetteville. We have come a LONG way from those days. We used to be envious of other campuses now we scoff at them..

New Money!

The University didn't bring Dickson back, IMO it was Windy Austin and the Hothouse Tomato Boys

That name will tell you who was a native or transplant. I could've said Zorro and the Blue Footballs.

Well for my generation it was technically Hunkr Down.

Dickson was still a rockin little street back then. 1995 is where I put the wholesale renaissance as officially kicking off.

Over the course of the 5 years starting in 1995, Emerald Coast (which later was renamed CG), JR's Ballroom (then Dave's) Doe's Eat Place, Bordino's (which started behind Jose's as an "extra" space, which was expanded and is now home to Smoke & Barrel) The Bakery Building, the Laundry Building, Brewskis, Busters, and a few more all opened. Three Sisters was built, and the downtown revitalization street plan followed soon afterwards.

But I believe 1994-95 was where the momentum really shifted as far as bars and real estate values.

I actually think Fayetteville might have been a better town back then, but I'm sure a lot of that is bullshite nostalgia.

I never thought Fayetteville ever lacked as a college town, though.

Maybe in the realm of athletic facilities, but Fayetteville has always been a very charming city in a beautiful setting. And Old Main and her lawn have been in place since 1874.

Regardless of what you read here, most LSU fans are awesome. We party our asses off when we go on road trips. I love to party with opposing fans. We always have a good time.

This is especially true for the fans that make road trips.

I'm sure y'all will appreciate Dickson. Its laid back, safe, good neighborhood, yet it has a lot of little pubs, places to see bands, and a lot of characters.

There are lots of street performers down there these days. Here's a little bit of the typical vibe:

I took Fyv for granted when I lived there and when I went to SMS. The time I missed it was living in Tulsa and in the Bay. But the Bay was special to me also. Springdale is like Larry of Three Stooges. Not needed, but not same without it there, because of Rogers/Bentonville growth.

The last time I was in Fayetteville was 1984. Was there two weeks before classes started in the Fall. The sororities were having rush. Every bar I went into was full of college girls. Fayetteville was an excellent town.
