Longest tenure for Saban anywhere he's been. Final stop?

I don't know Nick Saban personally, so I don't feel like I'm in a position to answer for him.

You think a team would hire him?

It's pretty obvious that he is a far superior college coach.

And the Dolphins wanted Bryant before they settled on Don Shula. Sometimes a coach just has to know his limitations. Luckily for Saban he already knows what it's like to be a head coach in the NFL. At Alabama he's the state's second most powerful man behind the governor. Fans worship the very ground he walks upon and he has complete control over the program. You don't see that kind of treatment in the NFL.

Since he failed at his "dream job" - it seems likely he will stay at Alabama until he retires.

I thought he would have jumped ship by now, but I also thought Urban was at his dream job.

How do you know that Miami was his dream job ? Do you know him? Well Bryant is or as just as well known than any great NFL coach!

I think he would leave for 1 team and 1 team only and that's the New England Patriots. Him and the owner are very close.

Pro owners know he's not a good Pro coach. He is doing great at Bam........why leave?

Yep, those other jobs were stepping stones to reach the ultimate job. Saban knows that BAMA makes good coaches become great, and great coaches become Legends.

Count me as one of those who said he would be gone by now, or shortly thereafter.

Now, I think he's at Bama until he loses interest, dies, or they stop playing football, whichever comes first.

I don't know him either, but I'm beginning to think that his new 'dream' is to be considered the greatest HC in college football history. If he puts together another 8 seasons like the last 4, I think you could make the argument.

And for the record, that prospect fills me with gloom.
