In terms of conference prestige, and potentially giving other programs a window to make the playoffs and/or improve their seedings when in position. Ideal scenario is LSU wins then next year UF makes a run, maybe UGA or AU next.

Not taking anything from them but when Bama was the only SEC team competing for National Championships that is not so good for everyone else. They got too ahead in recruiting. We need everyone to recruit well and the top talent to disperse more.

We need a good SEC with 4-5 National Championship caliber programs. Just one horse is not that good for everyone's best interest.

It's not about pride, it's about convenience. The SEC prestige had a lot to do with LSU getting the #1 seed. Beating tOSU AND Clemson would have been a bitch.

Definitely college football's best interest LSU wins tonight.

Clemson plays boring spring like scrimmage games in the fall, so you can pencil them in the playoff every preseason, playoff being their only chance to lose a game.

Yeah, sorry, but no LSU or any sec championship is good for Auburn. The boost in recruiting alone is enough for me to pull for a Clemson beat down.

Where were all you conference loving bastards last year when Bama was playing Clemson? Pulling for Clemson, thats where you were. Piss on the swamp kitties and piss on the SEC.

They completely disrespect what you guys have done the last 10 years.

They rode your coattails chanting SEC , SEC while saying the SEC office and SEC refs favored your program.

Bama had become too good, too far ahead of everyone else. That is harder to sell as being "best for everyone else".

A good SEC rep will help teams that are in position to make the playoffs; specially one fighting for the last spot. No one reasonably can argue against that. The committee is supposed to look at the current season only but don't tell me having a team play in the Championship 13 of the last 14 years (or whatever it is) including a couple of all SEC finals is not buried in people's minds. That is diluted if it is just one team. See the ACC with Clemson.

Because of geography I'm not sure AU has more recruiting battles vs Clemson than vs LSU. So not sure going against a team with 3 of the last 4 NC head to head is on your best interest either.
