In the book it was UNC. So not Billy Cannon. In the movie it’s a fictitious Louisiana University set in BR with purple and gold as its colors and is also in the SEC. So its LSU no matter what anybody says.

Right. It was about a mythical "Louisiana University", just like Pitch Perfect was set in a mythical "Barden University" (although I did see a Keens store sign in the movie LOL).

I saw where he got a scholarship at a small Missouri university to play football but tore his ACL and never played.
