It's a damn shame they made us travel over there just to upset the less fortunate.

It really is. Basically just south Kansas. They don’t even care what a crap hole it is. Had to go to OKC for a work conference last month and I would’ve rather been stuck in the Rust Belt somewhere. Never been to a metro area that big that’s so bland - hell, probably would’ve had more fun kicking tumbleweeds and eating dust in Lubbock or Permian.

OKC is horrible, Tulsa isn’t quite as bad though. It’s downtown architecture is at least interesting because it had a boom when most of the country was in a massive bust so the style is close to unique (Miami is similar historically but a lot of its downtown is getting torn down for bigger more modern buildings). In other news there are also some interesting spots as you head towards the pan handle: the salt plains/quarry are cool, there is a state park with sand dunes (for real…it isn’t Moab, but still), and Black Mesa is really interesting and stunningly awesome at night.

That’s about it, otherwise armpit.

Southeast Oklahoma is BEAUTIFUL. And it's home to Broken Bow Lake. Probably one of the best fisheries I've been to around the quad state(AR,OK,TX,LA) area. It doesn't get much fishing pressure, and it's got some giant bass/crappie.

The rest of the state is meh, interstate roads are laughably bad.

Had some good times in Tulsa tho.

I like to think nasty arse Trenton, NJ and Fresno, CA are the armpits of America and Oklahoma is the gross lint filled belly button...except instead on lint its meth...but point taken.

It's cute when Hog fans pretend to be Texans...

"Your state sucks".

"Your town sucks".

"Your school sucks".

"Your roads suck".

"Your restaurants suck".

"Your quick stores suck".

But in the end, they are still just a lowly Hog from Arkansas and not a mighty, annointed by the almighty Texan.

Agree on Tulsa. Need to check those out. I did come back from CO through NM and took 412 through the panhandle… That was easily the worst place I’ve ever been through (but we didn’t look around at all). But salt pans and dunes would absolutely be worth it.

Oh yea, the towns in the pan handle are fricked. Just like eastern Colorado, wasteland. Some of the countryside is spectacular there though. The salt thing is awesome if you haven’t ever been to something like that, my kids had a blast digging up huge salt crystals though. Totally different that digging up crystals in SW Arkansas too as that is a dry endeavor versus the salt crystal digging was messy as hell.
