I've loved watching him play, but I think his INTs hurt his chances more than the "nobody ever wins twice... again" thing and the "he's a jerk" thing. He has 7 INTs with 4 games remaining. He had 9 total last year. In contrast, Winston has 3, and 2 more TDs. And BTW he is undefeated, while A&M's two losses are directly attributable to 4 INTs in those 2 games. Mariota has 0 INTs, and not coincidentally is undefeated.

Clearly JFF needs to return next year to hone his craft

I think JM is the best in CFB even with his antics. I love the fact that he is truly a team player.

Zamori - LSU scheduled Oregon. and all they heard was no offense bla bla bla. LSU dog stomped them.

You see you have your chances - you just have to win. If you do you stop the streak. Just win. SEC 7 i a row. 4 different teams.

USC if I recall - the media darling lost to Stanford at USC to go to the MNC and lost. Stanford was a 44 pt. dog.

Thats arena ball. You can't get a swing like that in the sec or heads would roll. dipshit carrol got a raise then bailed before sanctions, like kelly.

whatever dude.

The BCS era has really damaged the Heisman (more so than it was already). There has been a very strong desire to give the award to a player from a team in the BCS title game.

This x 1 million.
The year Mark Ingram won the Heisman pretty much sealed the deal that it was no longer "the best player in college football" but more so "one of the best players on one of the two teams in the BCSCG" award.

Well RGIII won it with 3 losses and all the talking heads now say you can't lose a game and still win it. Horsehit!

Not only is he the best player in the country, he's also the 2nd best player on his offense.

This. Anyone who has actually watched Manziel this year knows that he isn't even the best player on his team this year.

i assume you're missing another not in there somewhere or are you saying he's the first and second best player on his offense?

Mike Evans. Perhaps you've heard of him. Pretty decent player.

This is crazy. Evans is great. No doubt. But a huge reason he is able to get open and beat defensive backs is because JFF extends the play for 8-10 seconds. No db can cover for that long

That must be why they're pumping AJ for the Heisman and not Mariotta and Winston.

Build them up, tear them down. That's just how it works.

Then why isn't Manziel throwing it up like that for other receivers? Evans makes plays that no other receivers can make. Wide receivers rarely get due credit in Heisman voting, but if you take Evans off that team, Manziel doesn't even get an invite to New York.

You seriously believe this? How did he manage it last year then?

Mike Evans is a beast. I guess posters forgot that during the bama game, JM was just throwing the ball up for grabs and ME was coming down with it.

Mike Evans is a beast. But if you take away all his yards and replace him with a guy who gets zero yards, JFF is still getting 350 total yards a game avg

ESPN is a $300,000,000.00 stockholder in the Texas Longhorns.

If I had 3 hundred million invested in a product and I controlled the vast majority of the consumer opinion - I would likely do the same.

ESPN has taken it to another level this year with the blatant agenda.

1 more year of JFF free marketing all over the TV really really hurts the plan to rebuild Texas.

Texas will be back. It is just about how big of a head start does A&M get before Texas dumps its current system and immulates A&M's model.

ESPN wants to be damn sure JFF does not get another Heisman as the head start would be even bigger.

What I cant believe is that they can get all the actors on ESPN to all follow suit. Its like the SMU 30 for 30.

Oh - I am sorry I said actors I meant Herby and crew. The "Sports Guys" Biggest Douche Bag sell outs ever to see the grass on a football field.

Un fricking believable. Herby - pussy.

But he has thrown costly turnovers that have costed his team wins.

ThOse throws to Evans are usually calculated risks... Kind of a throw for a punt on 3rd and long... Same shite okie state did with Dez bryant back in the day. Guys like Julio jones... The ones that can high point the ball in the back of the endzone or jump over the db.

As for the OP.... The Florida state kid and Johnny are the only real candidates in my mind, and the fsu kid hasn't lost yet... Furthermore, he destroyed Clemson ... The same team that beat uga straight up.
