Yet no championship. You guys made the B12 championship twice before you left, and couldn't win that either. The bottom line is the analogy is not valid, as the structure of the league will be different.

You are arguing a different point. My only point was the East was objectively quite strong in 2013.

I am arguing the point of the OP and the differences between the SEC in 2024 and 2013, and the difficulty of schedule is a big part of that.

Aren't those things taken into account in the AP voting? OU finished 6th in 2013. Was it due to a weak schedule?

Missouri didn't beat a team in the final AP 15 , OU did. So when it was all said and done, Missouri's best conference win was #18 Texas A&M, who was in the West. The best team in the East other than South Carolina, who Missouri lost to, was Vanderbilt at #24. I think you might admit that this does not represent the typical tough SEC schedule.

Missouri beat 5 teams in 2013 that were ranked at the time of the contest. Still, that is beside the point.

Before the CFP came about the only means we had for determining a national champion was generally the AP poll with perhaps some validation from the coaches poll.

My point is simply this...in the measured opinion of both the AP and the Coaches poll for the 2013 season the East had the #4 team, the #5 team and the #24 team (#23 in coaches) at the end of the season.

No one can objectively look at that and say the East was weak unless you want to completely delegitimize the universally recognized ranking system used for college football in which case you'd have to call into question OU's 7 national championships that were determined by final AP polls.

The polls can't be correct when you like them and bullshite when you don't.
