AFCA executive director Todd Berry laid out the organization’s legislative agenda in a press conference to close the convention last week, and over the hour-long session Berry saved his strongest stance for his campaign to change the redshirt rule. The new rule would allow players to play in up to four games — any four games — and retain their redshirt.

I like it. Gives kids more opportunity to stay in college.

Why not just let them play all 5 years? Makes too much sense.

Just eliminate redshirting altogether and give every player five years. Boom.

What I like is that kids that have worked their butts off all fall could make a cameo in blow-outs and maybe the bowl game and not get docked for it.

The NCAA wantedcto do this 20 years ago. Got voted down for some reason.

This is just gonna be extra depth for the back quarter of the season. Or rotated depth throughout the year.

The patsy OOC games will become like freshman games, at least for the better programs

Will this be called the Shea Patterson rule, while lost a year of eligibility playing the last 3 games of a meaningless season due to Chad Kelly getting hurt?
