Aren't there a lot of MSU fans in Birmingham? I'd have thought they would've taken them for that reason. OM brought a lot of people, IIRC.

Arkansas vs Houston works . I mean there are some teams in the NCAA tourney with losing records so what's the problem?

Vandy does deserve better than the Compass Bowl. They've had two straight 8-4 seasons. If they win their bowl game they will finish the season 9-4 and ranked for the second time in as many years.

Bowl selections shouldn't be based on who brings in the most money. They should be earned by play on the field.

Using your reasoning, Alabama should be in the NCG every season, even if they go 4-8, because they'll bring in so much money.

Nothing we can do about it but pack the place with Vandy fans.

Vandy should be in the peach bowl. I can see why the Music city bowl and Liberty passed since they were in those the last 2 years. If the peach was worried about attendance, invite Ga tech from the ACC. F changing the bowl names and money grabs. Enjoy the all-american bowl, better than no bowl.

Will do, and I quite agree. Was the Hall of Fame bowl when last I went. Hope I'm not a bad luck charm, we lost to Air Force that time...

Vandy doesn't take 40K to home games.

I've followed UK to two bowls in that stadium and both were dismal, even though the Cats won one of them. Bowls at that level should be eliminated. Would Vandy even make a profit by going?

So atlanta is tearing down the G dome and the Braves stadium while birmingham can't build an Arkon university type stadium for UAB?

So? About 10% of Vandy's students are from Tennessee and most don't stay in Nashville after graduation. But traveling to a bowl game is different; not so limited to the local population. Truthfully, I'm curious to see what kind of support we get for this game. I'm optimistic...

I am pretty sure the total "attendance" is counting the thousands of tickets the bowl game gives to its corporate sponsors and the total ticket allotment that the bowl game forces the teams to buy whether or not they sell them to their fans.

I figure your alumni are smart enough to know that Birmingham blows and they would be better off watching at home
