We might lose six but KY ain't one of them.

The snatching defeat from the jaws of victory over and over and over again against UT has done more to crush my UK football soul then getting the shite kicked out of us by Florida on a routine basis and that's saying something.
Both of those games on our schedule are of the "I don't want to talk about it until it happens" category for me.

That's a nice dream of yours. We're going to skull frick both UK and UT.

I didn't realize the streak was this long. I hope they do for the sake of UK fans. They need something to go their way in football.

UF will beat UT by at least 2 possessions IMO.

Yea. 2007 was a good game. 2008...not so much.

In our 6 game losing streak, only 2006 was really any good as a game. Otherwise it's been boring. 2009 was kind of funny when they were making excuses about winning.

True. I was talking about UK/UF 2007. It was a good game, but a huge let down at the same time. Being ranked higher than UF, Game Day on campus, and then we lost. Oh well.

It happens, I think it was 2003 where a True Freshman Chris Leak led a comeback vs UK in Lexington thanks also in part to Crowder and Johnny Lamar.

Certainly, I didn't mean to take away from that. I was pulling for y'all. Georgia ended up having to do our dirty work.

You know not flaming you for what crompdaddy posted, but shouldn't UT fans be more concerned with beating Florida than UK beating Florida?

I think it's a very tongue-in-cheek post. Every year someone always says "Is this the year Kentucky ends the streak against Tennessee?" while ignoring that Florida's streak over Kentucky is almost as long and is, in fact, the second-longest active streak in the nation.

We have beaten Tennessee 6 times in a row now. UT fans should be more concerned with UT beating UF, than UK beating UF, no doubt.
Last year, Trey Burton beat UK on his own. This year, we actually have an OC that knows how to use talent, and an OL that's not fat and out of shape. I expect decent things from the offense this year.

I just find it amusing that "the streak" is all anyone brings up when Tennessee and Kentucky play yet I never hear a word when Kentucky and Florida play.
I mean, I understand it because we're a much more interesting school to talk about, but still.

Because UT and UK are geographically close, and UK may consider UT a rival?
Posted on 8/23/11 at 10:26 pm to gatordmb89
Yeah, but no one cares about our rivalry.

It's pretty shitty how Florida basically gets two automatic wins in the SEC by playing Kentucky and Vandy every year. That's the only justification for expansion IMO. If Texas A&M is invited and goes to the SEC West, a much better program like an Auburn or Florida State will probably go to the SEC East. The gap between the two divisions would get significantly smaller.
Based on this pile of diaper filler I will assume your football watching days does not go back much further than 2000...
Like teams, all divisions have their cycles. East is down for sure.
Oh and I believe there is some team from the East that already plays Florida State every year...trying to remember who that is...
