For what its worth two years ago i thought this year would be a down year after losing mallett but we should still be pretty good...you never know who is going to step up out of nowhere

Not sure if replacing Dominguez will be an upgrade or not. He must of done pretty well considering the guy behind him didn't beat him out for the job. If you remember DJ had quite a few false starts as well.

I think we have what we need to win big this year. Whether we do or not remains to be seen. If we truly belong in that rarified air then beating bama and lsu on the road is just something we'll hafta manage. To me bama is the bigger stumbling block. We know we can compete and finish against lsu. We have yet to do both against the tide.

I'm not scared of the talent or depth behind the upperclassmen like I used to be. We won't be the front runner every year, but we will be solid.

fwiw I thought we'd be fine at OL last year after losing two starters and we weren't. Our OL was dominant the two previous years and was a big dissapointment last year.

I have been the opposite. I have been pointing to 2011 for a couple years now.

Mallett was good no doubt, but our offensive options with Wilson are so much greater. The defense this year is what I think is going to surprise some teams. We will be a very, very physical group up front.

Domigues was a very good OL as far as his blocking skills, most of it negated due to his FS's. He put us in a lot of 3rd and long situations.

I think you meant Matt Flynn.

And if memory serves we returned the whole OL from 2006 in 2007.

She had personal problems and while I don't disagree with you, Renne knew how to work it a lot better than Liv did.

I think they have to be in the discussion. They have some very good, experienced talent and a very good coach. People that don't think they are part of the SEC Championship discussion are kidding themselves.

Roses are red and have thorns that can cut.
So don't ever use them to wipe your Hawg butt.

When pigs fly ...

Hell freezes over

When Ole Miss doesn't kick the Hawgs so hard they wear their own azzes for a hat

I had a thread earlier where I said LSU was a year away (national championship wise) but it seems Arkansas has a better chance this year than next year. The 3 main wide receivers (and yes Cobi Hamilton seems good) are gone after this year, Knile Davis is probably gone, Bequette gone, Stadther gone, Franklin gone, Jerico Nelson gone, Tramain Thomas gone, Isaac Madison, etc. I assume Wilson will be good (Petrino is the best offensive head coach in the conference and turned Casey Dick into a quasi-servicable SEC QB) and he'll be back but they lose a lot, maybe more important are their defensive losses. They'd have to go 11-1 (beating either Alabama or LSU on the road) but this seems to be their year roster wise.

Good observations and I do believe we will be better this year than next. However, games and championships are won in the trenches and I believe most of our OL and DL will return next year.

Bequette will be hard to replace but Stather is really more of a relief player. Losing Franklin, Nelson, and Thomas, who I think has developed into one of the better DB in the SEC, will hurt.

On the surface it appears losing Childs, Wright, Adams and probably Davis will be next to impossible to replace but I like who we have waiting in the wings for their turn. Arkansas has a deep, talented group of young receivers. Having great skill position players will not be a concern as long as Petrino is at Aransas.

All but the RT, which was manned by Carnell Stewart (our achilles' heel in the passing game). He was a very good run blocker, though.
