re: Arky fans, Where is Greg Childs?

He dropped at least two that I can remember. Didn't get a lot of chances. That's the way our offense works sometimes though. The touches get spread around and sometimes a guy will kinda go missing for a game or two. Last year the same thing happened with Wright. I think Child's will be fine. He'll get one good game under his belt and be back to normal.

Yeah I know but unfortunately we don't play anybody real until week 4 and I feel like talking smack tonight. I wasn't including oregon in the cupcake talk though I'd definitely say after two straight losses to sec teams they're in danger of being exposed as overrated. As for sakerlina y'all are supposed to be the best team in the east. E. carolina should be a gimme and let's face it. Georgia sucks major arse this year. Kinda like saying you beat texas last year.

As far as this year, no I don't know for certain. But I will say this. Out of bama, lsu, sc, and us we're the only team that has put it together in all three phases both games, cupcake or not. I'm usually not one to talk a lot of smack. This year though I honestly think we're that good. We've gave everybody all they wanted last year and that was with a defense that wasn't as good as this year's crew. Yes, like every team, we'll need a little luck along the way, but if we get that then watch out.

Wow! You think of that all by yourself? Tell ya what, I'll lay off speed when you lay off the transvestite hookers... Now that we're through being in middle school again, if you'd like to discuss why your tigers are gonna lose the day after Thanksgiving feel free.

I can't help it we haven't played anybody. We've looked a lot better against our cupcakes than either the ole ball coach or lester's boys have. Does sakerlina play florida right after us again this year? I can't wait to hear the excuses when we beat y'all about how the team was just sand bagging for the gator game again.

I see the logic in my statement went completely over both of your heads. The part where I mentioned that our D has gotten better was supposed to be the give away. Garcia is one six pack and a frat party away from flusing your season down the toilet again. You almost lost to a crap georgia team. How's that for this year? If the tigger's players ever get outta the joint then maybe they'll be okay. Win a game against a real team that wasn't handed to you and we can have a conversation about this year.

Ummm... I'm pretty sure our D handled lswho and sakerlina last year and we've only gotten better ;) You may not respect our D but I bet your players do...
Tyler had the better game. I personally think TW is the best in the SEC. However, until week four we won't really know anything for sure.
Curtis 5/37

I thought he looked pretty decent running the ball tonight. And yeah, Adams streak is for games with a catch. I think he's caught one in every game he's played in if I'm not mistaken.

He was covered but he clearly could've made the catch. Should've been a first down :banghead:

re: Is this Arkansas' year?

Not sure if replacing Dominguez will be an upgrade or not. He must of done pretty well considering the guy behind him didn't beat him out for the job. If you remember DJ had quite a few false starts as well.

I think we have what we need to win big this year. Whether we do or not remains to be seen. If we truly belong in that rarified air then beating bama and lsu on the road is just something we'll hafta manage. To me bama is the bigger stumbling block. We know we can compete and finish against lsu. We have yet to do both against the tide.

I'm amazed at what Miles has done in spite of JJ. Until JJ can play several good games in a row,I don't see them as a top 5 team. Look at Florida and Texas last year. JJ would have killed Urby the first season.

I never really thought much of JJ one way or the other til I watched him in LR last year. After watching him just kinda fold up it's hard for me to have a lotta faith in him. I suppose ole Lester must be doing something right. Either that, or the LSU athletes sure make up a bunch of ground.

it always seems that a player's biggest jump in development occurs between is first and second seasons... i think dyer will be ready to carry the ball 20+ a game, but we'll see.

Yeah especially with running backs as they seem to have an easier transition game wise from highschool. Playing as a freshman and having a year of experience and offseason phsyical conditioning puts them in a good place to make a nice jump in their sophmore year. I think the difference with MD will be whether Aub's passing game will allow him get those 20 carries without 8 men in the box. I'm not saying Tyler Wilson is the second coming of Jesus, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that KD will benefit from a better passing game than MD.

LSU has reached the plug-n-play status... they've been good for so long(right at a decade) and always have top 5 to 10 recruiting classes that people just automatically assume they'll be in contention for the SEC and eventually the BCS.

This. Once you've earned peoples respect you get the benefit of the preseason doubt to prove yourself. Do I nescessarily agree they are top 5? With George Jefferson at qb that's a pretty tall order given his past performances. However, given the teams past performances I can certainly see how they are getting the preseason love.
Dyer has talent. I don't think he can carry the ball 20-25 times EVERY game. Knile and Lattimore can imo. I think TR falls into the same category as MD. All of these guys will share carries but I think TR and MD moreso. Dyer may also be hurt by the fact that since Aub is rebuilding a lot of their team they may play from behind more than the other three teams. This mean more passing and less carries to go around. It should be the other way around for the Hogs and KD will get lots of 4th quarter work against tired defenses.

Either way all four of these guys are world class or close to it. I don't really, however, see how somebody could call TR, ML, and MD legendary type backs and not include KD. It's not like any of the first three put up a 1,800 yd. 20 td season.

I'm not sure what the story is on Lowe. I've heard that he is one of the top athletes in the state if not the best but he has no offers. Is there a problem with his grades? That's the only thing I can think of with him.

I think part of hold up on Lowe is that he plays in such a small classification that BP will want to see all the film of him that he can. If he has a good year, which he will, then I think he will most likely get an offer.
I've met the kid cos I work with his mom and he definitely has the frame to add weight and muscle and could make a monster safety which is where he projects. He's a very athletic three sport star (fb,bb,and bs ball) and he likes to hit. I live in Fordyce and I was talking to our ex AD about the kid and his opinion is that he is definitely D1 material. Said he had the size, speed and talent. This guy has been around football a long time and coached Ray Lee Johnson and Kevin Williams so I respect his opinion.
Give this kid a couple of years under Veltkamp and he'll be fine. This is the kind of player that BP wants because he can take him and build a SEC caliber player out of him. I went to school with Kevin Williams the dt for the Vikings. When we graduated he was only about 15 lbs. heavier than this kid is. I would imagine that Sprinkle will probably concentrate on getting ready physically over the course of this year which will help as well.

georgia can ruin this at the beginning of the season.

Sweet baby jesus please let this happen. That way epsn will hafta find somebody else to stroke and we won't hafta look at that godawful blue field all year. Plus the SEC won't loose a gameday appearance to those smurf frickers.

i dont agree with it, but ive heard alot of people say wide receiver

When we were recruiting the Springdale 5 or 4 or whatever the hell it was I was having a talk with a local highschool coach about the whole thing. This was at the point before Gus when it looked like Damian Williams was going to USC. I told him that I thought DW was the must get out of all of them and his response was that wr's were a dime a dozen and you could teach any idiot to run and catch. I didn't and still don't agree. For my money it might actually be qb. There's been some national championships won with some middle of the road qb's that had excellent talent around them on offense and defense. FB probably seems like the most logical answer but not in BP's system. Stumon was a huge part of out sucess and BP used a schollie on an unknown juco lb b/c he said he'd been looking for someone like Kiero for three years to play fb. Doesn't sound unimportant to me.
