All of you keep thinking OSU will be so great in the computer rankings and LSU will be so great in the computer rankings. But LSUmatt and others keep basing their prediction on this weeks computer rankings, not on what they will be next sunday. Those things will change if LSU loses, and/or Bama wins. Arky will move up in the computer rankings, LSU will fall. Bama will move up if they win. How much is undecided, but if Bama wins they will further separate themselves from OK State.

Oklahoma State is just better, and they're at home.
Think of it this way:
OU = Bama
Okie State = Auburn
As difficult as it is for me to admit, being the #1 program in the state still gives you an edge against your rival.
That might have contributed to the fact that OU has won the last 8 straight (six of those against Gundy, by an average of 20 points).
And if the current streak isn't bad enough, it's only the fourth longest in the series thus far. OU also has streaks of 9, 15, and 18.
The above isn't surprising when you learn that the last 65 times these two teams have played (dating back to the end of WWII), the Sooners have won 56 times.
And since you brought it up, Okie State's home field advantage may not matter much, since they've only beaten OU in Stillwater twice since LBJ was in the White House, losing at home 19 other times (with one tie) for a winning percentage of .114 over that period.
OK, forget that Bama-AU comparison I mentioned earlier. This rivalry is more like UT-Vandy...or, if you prefer, LSU-Tulane.
Of course, the Cowpokes could still pull it off. But history is NOT on their side.
And both teams know it. Don't pretend that won't make a difference.

I think this whole argument is two sided. Depending on how you view the national champion crowning process. For me, because we don't have a playoff, I look at the regular season as a playoff, and that if you can not win your conference, you should not be able to play for a national championship. I have no doubt the lsu/bama are the top two teams, but if bama wins the mnc over lsu, it just doesn't seem right to me. I was totally against a rematch even before the bama lsu game. How can you poo poo on a conference championship by remarching two divisional foes. This is just my opinion. Obviously some people believe that the top 2 teams should be paired in the mnc no matter what. If lsu loses to osu in the mnc they can still say they were the best in the sec this year. If bama beats lsu, its almost a wasted season.

They can all talk of seen that, done that. Truth is Bama is the only one in the country that can give LSU a game. The other teams will just be sent to slaughter. Bama would crush every one loss team. Fact So tell the talking heads to GFThemselves. They is dumb.
Great post

EVERY major network is predicting a rematch.
And yes, that's even with OSU beating OU. Projecting them to play Stanford in the Fiesta.
ESPN+SI+CBS+FOXSPORTS+YAHOO+BCSKNOWHOW.COM >PROJECTED numbers
If the computers were really THAT powerful. OSU would already be above Arky.
It's reaching at best. Not to mention this picking up 25% deal. The coaches and USA Today put them at 6 for a reason. If they really had that much faith that OSU should go to the title game, they wouldn't have dropped them as far as they did. Just because they move to #3 eventually because of losses, doesn't mean the coaches will automatically help them. That's assuming way too much.

No, I think if bama wins we stay #1 or #2. I think if Arkansas wins they probably get #2.
Sorry, but 1,2,3. And #3 is playing #1. In the past, if #1 loses to #3.... #2 usually moves up along with #3.

I don't agree with that point, and
that is not the rule to get in the BCSNC.
quote:Exactly and if true they should play for the Championship. Who cares that they beat them and didn't win the league championship. That happens all the time in playoff formats.
I have no doubt the lsu/bama are the top two teams
Bottom line LSU and Bama are the top two teams in the country, period. Let them play again if they remain undefeated.

Oklahoma State has a lot more to play for. Even if both teams are playing for the conference title, Oklahoma State is playing for a chance at the national title.
And teams love playing the spoiler, especially your #1 rival. Plus Oklahoma has 8 straight going on Okie State, Gundy has never beaten Stoops and OU as a HC.

Oklahoma State at home could potentially roll Oklahoma.
"Potentially" being the key word, Bedlam could go either way. I don't see anything that makes OU inferior other than they lack a true threat at RB. And despite that, Oklahoma still average 4 more yards rushing a game than Okie Lite...

Danielson's POV is interesting because he's previously demonstrated an ability to influence polls. If LSU wins Friday, Danielson will start a pitch against a rematch that could significantly influence voters. And he'll have 2 consecutive weeks to move those voters -- LSU-Arky & LSU-UGA.
Cue the death threats. Danielson will be having nightmares of Harvey updyke with a butcher knife before its over.

again...who is truly TRYING to avoid a rematch?
No doubt about that buddy.......its LSU
Now after every team with a clear path or an outside shot shite their bed and LSU is staring right back at a pissed off Bama team in a rematch you guys are still trying to think of ways Bama doesn't get in.......like being jumped by somehow magically every voter in the AP and Coaches are gonna be hypnotized and brainwashed by Gary Danielson's drivel about the BCS being corrupt blah blah and all in one accord and in unison Sun morning vote Ok St #2 after losing in AMES IOWA
When their is NO WAY if both teams win out they get even remotely close to getting jumped and we are staring at a rematch

oh bama beats auburn and they're #1? Makes sense. 12-0 lsu at #2 cause everyone knows that bama only lost at home because they had too much bama in em, roll damn todd.

Not what anyone is saying. We're saying if we beat Auburn we are #2. And the thinking that someone will overtake us is reaching and far-fetched at best.

oh the team they made quit at home? LOL
Your fat LBs have been exposed, Dre and Trent have already quit and want no more of ever playing against LSU. You'll be lucky to stay within 20 points. But, at least you get to pack up the trailer and visit a nice city for a couple days.
