There is a lot of parity in college football these days. People say it is NIL but it is really the transfer portal, coupled with NIL. If you don't lose first team contributors you lose experienced backups.

I don't know if there are any great teams this year. Some would say Ohio State, perhaps they are and perhaps they are not.

An Auburn fan saying the league is weak when UGA plays Alabama for the title sort of fits the same pattern though, wouldn't you agree?

I’m just pointing out about a dozen games this season where the SEC team underperformed against an OOC opponent. Who plays for the SEC title has absolutely nothing to do with that.

Game was never in doubt. UGA was able to maintain control without doing anything other than run the ball and stop Tech. There was no need to do anymore

Okay. Why did Stetson Bennet have 21 passes then? Also, explain this:

Average yards per rush against Georgia Tech this season:

7.1- NC State
6.7- Boston College
5.5- Virginia Tech
5.3- Wake Forest
5.0- Clemson
4.7- Pitt
4.7- Colorado
4.6- Syracuse
4.2- Temple
4.1- Georgia

So Georgia decided to run the ball a bunch. Great. Georgia averaged significantly fewer yards per rush than basically every other team that Tech faced this season.

I’m not saying Georgia sucks, but their performance against Georgia Tech was without a doubt uninspiring offensively, and it joins a long list of other games in which SEC teams failed to beat perceived weaker OOC opponents at the level they’ve beaten many conference opponents this year.

I promise it won’t kill you to simply admit this actual fact.

To what end would UGA throw for 300 yards and score 40+ points when Tech was never close to being competitive in the game?

A game decided by 7 points is absolutely competitive. Trying to pretend it isn’t is absolutely ludicrous.

UGA possessions:

INT (2 passes)
FG (2 passes)
Touchdown (4 passes)
FG (2 passes)
Punt (2 passes)
Punt (3 passes)
FG (2 passes)
Punt (3 passes)
Punt (0 passes)

Literally every drive but one had a minimum of 2 pass plays, and this doesn’t count the plays Georgia intended to pass but was sacked. Trying to pretend the entire game was just a bunch of handoffs to the running back is not at all what went down. Georgia did throw the ball quite often.

Georgia was in control, yes, but you guys absolutely could never pull away, and the door was absolutely left open while Georgia’s offense sputtered in the second half. One FG and four punts in the second half is absolutely a disappointing performance.

I’m not sure why you guys are trying to pretend otherwise.

UGA had the game won from the first minute.

LOL. Having only 260 yards of offense to your opponent’s 250 in a one score game is not “having the game won from the first minute.”

Okay. What was the reason for throwing 21 passes then?

So it was entirely coincidental that Georgia and Alabama were two of the teams you singled out as "underperforming" against an OOC opponent? Do you remember when Auburn went to overtime with an eventual 7 loss Clemson team in 2010? Finally won by 3 points. "Underperformance" happens every season to every team in every league. Or maybe my joke hit a little closer to home than I intended. Maybe 2010 was just a bad year for college football, since Auburn obviously underperformed during their title run and I'm sure dozens other teams did too.
