Well Larry Scott makes over $4 million and they are moving their headquarters to San Francisco.

Yes, they are now considered dead.

It was a good run.

Why a Championship game on a Friday?!

They have to know at this point that Santa Clara is a complete failure. Why not rotate between north and south sites like the Big 12 used to do?

Being in Santa Clara and on a Friday at 5pm make no sense. It makes it so difficult for fans to get to.

Utah and UW had 6 days notice to travel 700+ miles for the game. And the game is in the Bay Area where nobody cares about college football at all. Of course it will be poorly attended.

To put the distance in perspective, South Bend is closer to Atlanta than Seattle or SLC are to Santa Clara.

A neutral site does not work out west. It needs to go back to to being in the home team's stadium. UW probably travels the best out of any Pac-12 school, but basically had no realistic chance of bringing a crowd to the game.

The game was hard to watch. Pretty sad those were the two best teams.

Still dont understand why they balked at taking the Texoma 4.

I think it might have helped the PAC and slowed the growing disinterest in CFB out west.

Two of their biggest problems are the declining numbers
of HS talent in California and the Pac 12 TV contract...revenue is a huge issue for them.

The PAC goes as Southern Cal goes. It’s weird that the Trojans football program has been down so long. Tennessee, too.

Long term? Meh, they'll be fine. Huge population, lots of TV money, and one of the all time great college football Bluebloods along with a smattering of teams with national reputations. The conference will bounce back eventually.

Short term they have some real issues. Parity has struck the conference and while any team being able to beat any other team makes for interesting football what you get is a bunch of three and four loss teams fighting for first place with some really dreadful teams stinking it up.

It doesn't help them any that being stuck out on the West Coast doesn't help them schedule OOC. Think about it, the SEC can easily find opposition from the Sun Belt, American, or Conference USA. For the PAC 12 its the MWC or paying out the nose to fly someone in from across the country. Which is why so many PAC 12 teams have had to grit their teeth and stick their pecker in the play Boise early in the year meat grinder. They don't really have a lot of match ups out there.
