Eight of the top 10 on 247 recruiting rankings for the 2025 class are SEC schools. Two SEC schools (Texas might as well have been SEC last year) made the playoffs last year. Nine SEC schools are ranked in the top 25. I think we’re good for a while.

And it is only going to get stronger.

Actually with Harbaugh gone you better hope Oregon finds a QB or else it’s going to be Ohio State and the 17 dwarfs.
You don't understand why I said that. When players become official employees of the schools, the B1G will get the first picks because it has more $. It is over for the SEC.

Florida has recruited as well or better than Miami. aTm can recruit with anyone in the nation and has more raw talent than ND. Both have big, loud SEC home environments. That’s why Vegas saw these games as 50/50 despite Miami and ND being ranked much higher. These are the kinds of games the SEC has a reputation for not just winning, but dominating with clear superiority on the LOS. That’s the glory days that I think are over at least for now.

Ten years ago we didn’t make excuses for why we lost these games. We won them and laughed at how the SEC’s bottom half can beat teams like ND and Miami with flashy QB’s.

Could you cite some examples of SEC #5-8s beating other Power conference #1&2s?

There is zero evidence that there are deeper pockets for football in the B1G than the SEC.

If it were just about TV contracts Iowa would be beating Clemson and FSU for elite kids. They aren’t.

If it were about endowments Northwestern would be monumentally better than they are.

The only reason Ohio State had the portal experience they did last year was because Bama had a coaching change and your boosters were incredibly salty after watching Michigan win a championship and blew out their NIL budgets.

Oregon is having an extinction burst of spending as Phil Knight looks at the end of the road. When he’s gone who keeps Oregon relevant in NIL?

If you want to get into a bidding contest with a locked in Texas, A&M, Bama or UGA you’re going to get the same results everyone but Ohio State has been getting for two generations. Whether the B1G makes $2M more or less in a year isn’t going to matter to the boosters spending that individual recruits.

our #5-8 teams could consistently beat your ranked #2-4 teams

A&M, Florida, and LSU are not top 8 programs in today's SEC. The top programs continue to take care of business.

I'm just not sure that outside of UGA and maybe a couple others that the SEC scares anyone anymore.

I hate to break this but the SEC never did scare anyone.

Alabama did.

Turn out the lights… the party’s over…

But wait, what’s that rumble coming from the west?. Why that’s a stampede!

Fear not, it’s the Longhorns coming to save the SEC. We’ll take this. Preciate y’all.
