I can't imagine going that long

The AP has selected Tennessee as national champions twice, in 1951 and 1998.

The 67 claim is Bama bad claim bad. 2 loss team that finished 2nd in both major polls.

The AP was not the de facto champion selector until fairly recently. That’s like saying the popular vote wins the election.

Oops, not 80. I bet 100, and got 199 back.

Thanks Georgia, for sucking so badly!

Easy fking money.

Fairly well recognized in the 60s. Much more so than the now defunct Litkenhous. That's almost a Colley Matrix UCF claim equivalent, and Bama has 3 Litkenhous titles.

We’ll stop claiming ours when Bama gives up theirs. How about that

Kinda. You didn’t say you’d give them up or stop claiming them

Not even Ole Miss 2.0. Likely lose 3 games this year and it’s a rebuilding year. Next year was the target year for Heupel. 2022 was an accident. 2023 was the Bob Dole effect (waited his turn no one else was ready), this year is a necessary building year and 2025 should be the year they expect to be a contender.

The media is dick riding Nico and the Vols. Refs have received notice to give them favorable calls throughout the season. Tennessee will be SEC champs you can put the mortgage on it.

So we're suddenly the Ref and media darlings because yall lost to Kentucky?

Not mine to give up, and I've been a critic of a few of them for a long time.

My only response was to a UT poster trying to trash UGA for a 40 year gap in titles, given the Vols and MANY others struggles to reach the top.

Like it or not, Kirby has built a machine that is college football's standard. Bama just continues to be it's kryptonite

No, no he hasn’t. He had a deep and talented front seven and a couple of fortuitous schedules.

His program is better known for arrests and a 40 something percent graduation rate than any accomplishments on the field currently. A machine indeed.

They were ranked when they played, genius and they were both on the road. By your logic, your victory over number one Georgia doesn’t count because they are number 5 now neither does Kentucky’s top 10 win over Ole Miss because they are out of the top 10 now

1941 is pretty egregious. Just need to write that one off.
