I went with my parents back in the late sixties and can recall some of the students throwing their cowbells onto the field in disgust. It was against Southern Miss. The bench players literally turned around to watch their backs.

That game against Mississippi State has some of our fans believing again.

I'm glad they have hope, unfortunately it's for no reason.

Lebby had an entirely different game plan for Texas than it did for any other opponent. Out of 73 offensive plays, state ran the ball 50 times for 150 yards (3 yards per carry). This caused the game to slow down, they drained the clock to keep the Texas offense off the field. For comparison, against Florida Miss State ran the ball 56 times out of 90 plays for 240 yards (4.3 yards per carry). State had almost 10 more minutes of possession. It also didn't help that our starting RB coughed up the ball twice.

They're the worst non Vandy team since 2019 Arkansas. They're in the same class as either Chad Morris Arky team or Houston Nutt's 2011 Ole Miss team, which is probably the worst team I've ever seen.

If we are including Vandy then 2021 Vandy is among the worst teams in modern SEC history.
