If only we could somehow sew White's head onto JF3's body this week, we could be onto something

Still doesn't change the fact our DBs did a good job.

Easier to stop the pass when you know it's coming. Is it not?

If I was game planning against Auburn I'd try to take away the run and hopefully short passes. Try to force White into beating us with the deep ball. Easier to say than to do.

But if Auburn has success running the ball and throwing short across the middle its gonna be a long day.

Tell that to Dan Mullen LINK

quote:

"A good decision maker, accurate passer, very, very willing runner," Mullen said on Monday. "By that I mean productive, willing runner. He may not be the game-breaker that some guys are but reminds a lot like Dak Prescott was as a runner for us, where he's going to go get you some tough gritty yards when he needs to and can extend plays and make things happen with his legs when he needs to."

Sure but under that logic, why did Bama give up more yards?

Our "scrub arse QB" put up 250+ yards on you last year on less throws then Kelly. That's with a shite ton of drops too

Mullen is just being nice there. White can run okay but like Mullen said, he's not going to break big runs like other QBs.

I went back to your original point which was Kelly was held under 260 on 39 throws, how do we expect White to light you up?

He already did. Your defense is worse than last year

Ya, I didn't mean the whole game but I think he causes more issues for us from a defensive standpoint

The problem is when after the first 3-4 times he misses a WR by 10 yards you won't respect his passing and be able to stop him. He can run, bu he's not nearly adept at the read option as Marshall was.

Yeah. Last year. When we were 14th in the SEC in passing defense. What does that have to do with this year?

I don't think you understand, you won't need WRs on the field

Career long of 31

Yes he's not going to break many big runs, but he's a threat to pick up a first down when a pass play breaks down.
