They are paying him a lot to just be a coordinator.

Coordinators are historically expendable to Saban, so it’s a little interesting that they are doing everything they can to keep him around.

Good chance of it. Obviously Saban thinks highly of the guy to arrange 3.5 million per year to keep him

Yes, and he is by far Saban's best hire at Bama.

That’s the sense I get. He’s been on a long road and Saban loves a rehabilitation (redemption) story. I could see Sark humbled and appreciates the mentor-mentoree role.

I don’t think Bama would have ponied up that money unless Saban saw a long term future in it.

Saban has never treated coordinators as expendable. Kirby was with him for 10 years. He has said many times that continuity in his staff is one thing he wishes he could get better at.

Ah, maybe I was mistaken.
I know a lot have come and gone and Kiffin got fired before the NC, so I figured Saban didn’t feel he needed them enough to go out of his way to keep them.

So Is Orgeron plus he has a record of getting out of control with it.

Kiffin was spending a lot of time on the new job. He later said he made some mistakes. I think Saban also made a mistake letting him go a week before the game. I’m pretty sure he would have been worth a field goal which would have won the game

Sark would be an excellent fit and a slam dunk hire imho! They should hire him and give him a lifetime contract!

According to a former player, Kiffin was a “cancer” for the team and should have been removed earlier. Saban’s grace ran out.

I have never heard of any players speaking out about that. Not saying it didn't happen but this is news to me.

Earlier would have been very much better than a week before the game. Sarkisian was on the support staff. He didn’t have time to prepare. Kiffin did a great job that year with Jalen Hurts limited passing game

Maybe, Bama won't have an opening at HC for a long time so Sark will either have to wait patiently (highly unlikely) or do well at his next gig to be under consideration.

They didn’t. As I’ve said before in past posts, I was a teacher in Alabama and one of my former students was on the team, (but started the next year). I was living over seas so he felt comfortable providing some inside info.

Apparently something happened that broke the camels back, but to this day he won’t say what. Call it BS if you will. No care.

Of course there is also the possibility he goes to another team , does well, and decides to stay there

I agree!!

He has expertly managed the best offense in college football history this year.

Outstanding job!!
