No, consistently.

Please prove that.

Are you going to tell me Auburn/Bama 2015 is going to have better ratings than OSU/Michigan 2015?

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. Birmingham, despite its relatively small size, is the largest college football market in the country. We just like college football more than y'all.

I'm going to tell you this is the most subjective argument ever and it gets brought up every 6 months.

I think for most people who didn't grow up in the Southeast, OSU-Michigan is bigger. For people in the Southeast the Iron bowl is bigger.

I live a punt away from Alabama, so I will judge it. It's big, but has nothing on Ohio State/Ann Arbor.

I think for the most part people not in Ohio, Michigan, or Alabama don't care.

You don't think AL and AU fans feel this way about one another?

You deliberately left out the first part of my sentence there.

If an Alabama fan and an Auburn fan walked into a bar without their school colors on and just got into a non-football conversation, they would be able to get alone swimmingly. That wouldn't happen with OSU/Michigan fans because they are separate demographics of people. They don't have the same values

We fought a war against each other.

This is better than the t-shirt "how can we feel better about ourselves" thread.

And our state legislature forced the rivalry to stop for 30 years because there was much violence and destruction

We don't have pro sports teams, whoopdy do

Ohio and Michigan don't have NFL teams, either. Unless you count the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions as such!

You are describing a personalty disorder, not a rivalry.

Right. There are certain Auburn/Bama fans who think literally every other rival fan is a bad person. That's just being a dick, not proof of a rivalry

Historically, it's more comparable than the IB

No one really cares outside of a few counties in northern Alabama and eastern Tennessee.

This is wrong.

No, it's correct, another term that would apply here would be "provincial".

The rest of the country didn't give a shite about the Iron Bowl during much of the 2000s.

You're right, that rivalry isn't as big, nationally, as OSU-Michigan either. Sorry.

I'm saying take the football out of the equation completely. If 4 people are in a room together, 1 of each of the 4 teams, the 3 from Ohio State, Bama and Auburn will hang out with each other. The "Michigan Man" won't. They think of themselves as the 'aristocracy' of life.

Edit: actually they think of themselves like that with or without college football so I'm editing

I found them to be pleasant and engaging in Dallas a few years back.
