And maybe, just maybe, LSU athletics/admin/program just doesn't take it's football seriously enough, because football isn't a game either.

I don't think you know what a game is because football is a game. Cfb is a game, played by kids. To suggest otherwise proves you need to check your priorities

CFB is played by men; kids are little children. Wars all around the world are fought by men, generally in the 18-24 year old range, not kids or children.

Just because the American public has been conditioned, in the last three or four decades, to think of men as children doesn't really make it so.

1930's, 40's, 50's American men and women would consider American's of today to be mentally defective for calling men by the designation of kids.

And college football is a game only in name. It's actually a multi-billion dollar business.

How do all of you feel about Saban and the way that most of you do not actually believe he is a human-being because he doesn't smile, laugh, giggle, and guffaw 24-7?

Do you think it's fair or normal the way the press and rival fan-bases have made him out to be a horrible, mean, unforgiving, terribly cruel person just because he doesn't laugh constantly?

You know, some men are just serious when they are doing their work and laugh and enjoy themselves during their recreation time.

Regardless of the perception that has been sold to everyone, he does seem to have many friends, players really like him, other coaches respect him, and he has had a faithful wife for decades

Yes, Saban is an a-hole. And the alcoholic wife beater Bear is a bitch.

Les ended up with a pretty good career, and probably doesn't really care what fans of other teams think about him. I like you Les, don't ever change, you big palooka!

I agree with you on this...

Just as a bit of historical info... The average age of a soldier KIA in WW2 is 26. The average age of a soldier KIA in Vietnam was 19...

In that 1st picture you posted he wore a helmet-cam while rapeling down a tall building for a charity. I don't think that is goofy at all.

Let's not be dishonest, cow lover. Bryant was ahead of his time and would be admired and honored in today's society for being a playa. He liked strange every now and then and the wimmins couldn't resist him. Also, he did like to drink, as most men in his time did.

But, he never beat his wife. Know who did? Sweet Shug did. It's a well known fact that Shuggy beat his wife mercilessly.

He would have her transported over to Columbus Regional in Jawja, to prevent Alabama's press from catching wind of it, to fix her up after he let off his steam from being a loser and creep.

That is common knowledge. Then the bitch would get on his weekly post-game television show and complain about how the wind, rain, sun, moon, dirt, air, heat, cold, referees, or cheating players on other teams caused his team to lose on any particular Saturday.

You could tell that son-of-a-bitch was a wife beater just looking at him and listening to him. He influenced all you, your parents and grandparents greatly.

And to this day, his imprint on the cow fricking nation is why all of you are whining, complaining, sniveling, done got cheated, everyone is against us types and it's why your little nasty children will be just like you.

Wow.

Life isn't a game; life is serious. College football is serious too.

Football being serious stuff is why close to a hundred thousand people come out to cheer their team on every Saturday, across the nation, or not dare miss a game on television.

It's also why untold numbers of people have untold millions, maybe billions, of posts on college football message boards.

It's why people buy gear, car tags, and clothing all related to a team they support. They teach their children, either consciously or unconsciously, who to root for and against.

Football is why so many people have multiple thousands of posts and waste great portions of their lives sitting in front of a glowing screen typing on a little board with plastic keys on it.

College football is a topic that friends and family bond over and discuss at family events, on the phone, and at work.

College football is why many of us spend hour upon hour watching programs on television to explain us what we just watched on the same television. The game wasn't enough so we switch on the tube to learn more about the game that we didn't understand before ESPN tells us what we really need to know.

It is serious business and to say otherwise is disingenuous and untruthful. College football is why all of you are in this thread expressing outrage and disbelief and shuddering in astonishment at my statement that college football is serious business. Ironic, isn't it?

Said the guy with almost twenty thousand posts on a football message board ridiculing the fact, the very real fact, that someone said football is serious.

Almost 20,000 posts, think about that for a minute. What the frick else have you done, in your life, closing in on 20,000 times?

Not reading through the bs and I'm sure someone has said this, but I'm sure his players have seen him very serious on many occasions. I think he stays that way in front of the media.

Yeah, maybe so. All I'm saying is that I think he could be a little more of a serious type of person and could have had more success than he has had.

That is something we can all agree on. Even a few LSU fans in this thread have agreed with me.
