Using Leaf is a bad comparison. Leaf was very talented. He was just an emotional and mental wreck. He did not make it because of lack of QB skills.

Bingo. Fans are rarely right and scouts miss, too. Maybe Fields will turn out to be better than Fromm, but what is the point in arguing that Fields IS the better QB, when nobody knows at this point? besides, last year From definitely was the better QB, so we played Fromm. Fields didn't like that and didn't want to wait, so he left.
I will not fault our coaching staff for playing the QB that deserved to be playing last year.

I have no problem with that. I DO have a problem with Auburn fans coming on here and saying Fields is better than Fromm as if it is a known fact.

Richt didn’t even sign full classes. He made a ton less offers and had about 10 less people helping the program as analysts. We didn’t evaluate or offer tons of kids under Richt. He offered Cam as a TE and took a passion Watson.

Meanwhile Fields couldn't beat out Fromm and when he took live snaps he had problems dealing with pressure. I'm not hating on Fields but this recent idocy of Smart should have benched Fromm is hindsight at best.
Tell me would you bench a QB who was getting some Heisman hype and just led your team the national title game for some freshman who never started a game? Why create QB contervsery when there's no need?
