There will never be a scenario where Bama and Auburn could play twice in a season. Ever. And I can tell u that for a fact.
Nor will auburn be our perm crossover from the east should they move. Auburn sells out season tickets only every other year, when Bama is on the schedule. Bama higher ups would use this to bury auburn. I can also tell u that for a fact. Take Bama away and they would suffer mightily. It's why they forced us to play and It's why they haven't moved.

SEC WON'T put teams from the same state in doff divisions.
Therefore:
Tn./Vandy
Ala./Aub.
Miss./MSU
are packaged deals.

I say get rid of the divisions and have it straight 14 teams. Let teams work it out in a fair way to keep five rivals then rotate 3 other teams. The two best teams play for the SEC trophy. They can work out tie breaker situations. I see no need for divisions.
Once again, this is a bad idea because there is NO WAY to compare teams if they DON'T share any common opponents. That's why we have divisions where 7 teams share 6 opponents & you can rank them easier.

& how do you schedule 18 teams?
8 div. games
1 P5 game
2 cross-div. games

I could get on board with this as long as bama is our perm.

L5U should go join the Big 12 if they're that scared of competition.

Actually, some of us could give a flip about Bammer.
What disgusts us is the SEC forcing every-year, other division opponents on the other 10 teams to "save" Bammer/UThug & Aub/UGA.
If these games are so important, then put all 4 in the same division, add 1 more neutral-site conference game (4/4/1), rotate the 3 OOD games, and be done.
Florida has sucked since Saban made Meyer quit, and you have frick-all to show for it.

The funny thing with this statement is I believe only 2 or 3 teams have voted against the permanents...
But yeah, those other 10 teams though...

Here we are again, trying to fix something that isn't broken.
The East sucks, that's a fact, but that doesn't make it okay to be scared like a bitch.
As for keeping the TSIO and DSOR, etc. Those teams make the money, so they make the rules, it's a fact of life.
Besides. UT-Bama, AU-UGA, and UF-LSU. Big 6 as permanents and the rest of these coattail-riders don't matter.

Bama is afraid of that alignment, so it will never happen.
Good thought though.

Alabama traveling to The Swamp once every 14 years is a broken system. IMO

We get it; you're tired of being Bama's bitch but stop with the realignment bullshite.

Bama sees them in Atlanta plenty. In fact, they've played 8 times in 11 seasons, granted not all in the swamp.
If certain teams weren't scared of bowl eligibility, we could go to a 9 games conference schedule.
eta: You've got the the clear cut 6 best teams divided evenly into two divisions, each of whom has a permanent rivalry with one of their peers from the other division.
The only reason it looks unbalanced is that the 3 top dogs in the East have simultaneously gone through rough stretches while the 3 teams in the West have basically accounted for 8 of the last 13 national championships (incl. AU in '04).

Why does it need to be geographically correct?
Posted on 11/1/16 at 9:14 am to damnstrongfan
Only one change is needed for better geographical alignment: swap Missouri & Auburn. As far as this division and that division being stronger, things do and will change. You can't try to align it based on current trends because things change. If you don't believe that you're a newcomer to SEC football, or under 25.

North: Mizzou, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas
South: Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida
That's not right geographically speaking.
It would be:
North: Missouri, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.
South: LSU, A&M, Miss St., Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida
I can see why this wouldn't fly; I can easily see a drop in viewers for the North.
