Going by winning percentage, yep. Tied for 3rd since 1983, meanwhile, Lsu is 6th, mired in the middle of the pack.

1.Florida 77%
2.Tennessee 68%
3.Bama 64%
3.Auburn 64%
5.Georgia 61%
6.Lsu 57%
7.Arky 54%
8.South Carolina 40%
8.Ole Miss 40%
10.Miss St 31%
11.Kentucky 28%
12.Vandy 16&

I actually created a satirical thread about this a few weeks ago before I had seen it discussed here and caught similar shite. Since then I have noticed a thread (sometimes multiple) like this appear almost everyday.

I was actually surprised at the amount of Bama fans that acknowledged no less than 1 of their claimed titles were ridiculous. Any time that I have questioned the validity of '13' irl or other boards it is always met with a 'you lie' or 'ffffffuuuuu' type replies. While robbed of some lulz, I was pleasantly surprised that there is rational gumps after all.

Back in 92.. yep. And a 14-0 season. And nine undefeated, untied seasons total.

Bama's claims are more reasonable than Notre Dame's, USC's and Michigans and many other schools. You should do some research on them, I did once and I don't feel bad about Bama claiming 12 at all. Michigan claims 11, they only have two AP or UPI polls.

At present rate, should be second soon. Considering the second place team.

Do those opponents still show losses? Are you down to the point that book problems are what you need to show Bama isn't one of the premeire teams still?

I had this debate several times when I lived in Birmingham. ND's claims seemed to be more reasonable to me. USC and UM are pretty ridiculous with their claims, iyam.

I'm sure OU have some split titles as well, maybe I'm wrong.

Tell me which yrs are legit to you for them.

eta - Because you do realize they claim 13, yet only played in one Bowl game before 1970 and they have no claim to a title in that year. So, they claim 10 NC's when they never played in a Bowl Game, and you've established by your statements to Bama, that they shouldn't have claimed those awarded by the AP given before Bowl games. Or are you going to be dishonest and hypocritical now?

Alabama also claims National Titles that were given out by the local walmarts, any athletic clubs and Billy bobs car wash. And if you throw in the national Championships they give themselves for recruiting, then this number is well in the 20's. Alabama- If you got a trophy, we'll take it!

Thats why it's completely absurd that BAMA claims titles even when they lost their bowl game after the final poll. Using their logic, we have already won the MNC.

Also, GUMPS claim titles...other teams WIN them. If anyone believes that BAMA (if in LSU's position) wouldn't be posturing for an AP title "at worst"...your stupid. It's what they do!

Irks you that Lsu will never catch Bama, doesn't it. Probably irks you even more, that Saban could have more Crystal Balls than Lsu does come next month too.

So, you're going to discount AP titles Bama has, then claim one already for this year. Sweet.

I love LSU but I don't see how anyone from the SEC can talk shite on Bama's titles. Everybody in this country knows they ruled college football back in the day along with schools like OU, ND, and USC, Bama is right up there. I have a lot of respect for that program.

I've never said that Alabama isn't a premiere team. I would also say that their history is on par with the very best programs in college football.

With that said, I would be shocked if they had the 3rd best winning percentage since 83' if the wins that they had to forfeit aren't being claimed. I don't know and don't care if those that suffered those losses count them, or not. I just know that I don't acknowledge them anymore than I acknowledge 04' USC's BCS title (which I don't).

You lost your bowl game that year. Anyone who claims a national championship after losing their bowl game is just silly.
