I remember the

"Go..State...Go-State!" chant from way back in the 90s when God was a boy...

We always changed it to "F...State...F-State!"

Yes did not exist in the 90s or at least early 2000s as a war cry / slogan.

They made it up to counter hotty toddy.

Much like everything ole miss does.

After first down s they say it... Copying ole miss saying First down... ollllleee. Miiisssss

What's even more strange is that it is Hail as in German

Hail hitler

So it should be pronounced the same Hail State...

Its always been in the fight song. I used to say it in college in '04. When greg byrne took over as AD and we actually made an effort to really market our program, it started getting used a lot more. So its an old saying but has really only been used regularly by the entire fanbase for like ten years or slightly less.

Of course an ole miss fan believes they invented these things. I'm sure you also believe that y'all started "throw it in the dirt" in baseball. Amirite?

I prefer "Go dogs" or the like. "Hail State" makes me feel like a fascist.

Throw it in the dirt. Is a baseball thing in general.
But if state did it first that's fine. You could be right.

But ms state needed/wanting a phrase to emulate hotty toddy was evident.
And that is where hail state, and the hail state after first downs has just started in what the last few years?

And the junction? That's a new occurrence. It's not that it's not program/brand building its just that it was seen at ole miss first and then a version of it was implemented at state.

Your entire baseball experience is a copy of ours. Y'all did not let people in the left field till years after we did it.
