Is "hail state" a new phrase?

I don't remember hearing it growing up like I did "roll tide" "war eagle" and "hotly Totty"
Can they just make that up?

It's always been in their fight song, but it seems like they've only made a strong push to start using the slogan regularly the last 5-10 years or so.

It's cool to have a slogan. Roll Tide. War Eagle. Hotty Toddy. Tiger Bait. Gig'em. Woo Pig. Everyone had cool sayings. Now State has Hail State. The SEC west is just the coolest.

Fair enough. Y'all have a tough couple of games. But unless Auburn manages a miracle in the Iron Bowl, I think they're safely in last place.
