Louisiana public education in display here.
You're reaching so hard right now lol. Delpit has 5 games left to get ONE pick. He will get that pick, I can guarantee it. He will probably end with around 7 or 8. And hes a true sophomore. By the end of his career he will beat Minkah in every recordable stat besides pick sixes. I agree that that is important, but is that really where we're going to decide who the better player is? Cmon man
It's okay that Delpit is better than Minkah, you'll live. I promise.

This thread is breathe of fresh air, no Devin white no targeting...good ole fashion my guy is better than your guy
Barring injury, next year we will be talking about delpit being one of the beat safeties ever in the SEC

Not trying to be a dick Alabama fan who throws an Alabama player out there in all of these threads.
But is Thompson not thought of on Delpit's level?

So you're saying that while Delpit it is having a great year, he hasn't caught Minkah yet.
Thanks for clearing that up for your colleague.
Jesus christ you're stupid
You're literally comparing a players 3 years to another players 1 and a half years and claiming a victory

Stat wise, its 1.5 seasons compared to 3 full seasons.
I would surmise you are not to keen to critical thought.

Not by LSU fans. By scouts and people that grade these things, many consider him better

It’s dumb for anyone to just use base stats like INTs and TFLs to say one player is better then another. Those INTs and TFLs make up less then 10% of a player’s total plays.

He was no more “decorated” than Patrick Peterson

Minkah was one of the best safeties I've seen play in the SEC. I watched every game he played. I watch all the top dogs games every year. And of course, I watch every LSU game. Delpit looks better to me along with him obliterating every stat of Minkahs in the future will have my mind made up that hes better. I didnt make this thread just to argue, Delpit is the best safety I've EVER seen at LSU. Think of the safeties LSU has had. The kid is SPECIAL.

So get back to us when he has 3 full seasons under his belt.
We might take you guys more seriously if not for the shite you guys talked about guys like Fournette.
Remember 3 years ago today when Fournette was gonna win the Heisman? Good times.
That's why no one buys into your "only half a season" bullshite.

Let's see who goes higher in the draft barring injury by both players. That's the real test. A couple picks above or below can depend on team needs and other factors though.
If Delpit plays anything like this next year he will be a top 5 pick. As a safety.

Leonard Fournette went 4th overall and is thought of as the best college rb since Adrian Peterson
You LITERALLY tried to win an argument by comparing the stats of Minkahs 3 years to Delpits 1 and a half

Fournette is really good and had the unfortunate curse of playing Bama and was coached by Les Miles. He STILL put up the 2nd single greatest season in the SEC.
I mean, ANY other year that probably wins the Heisman.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but this reasoning is stupid.
You have no idea what the team needs will be for NFL teams two years from now that will be picking in the Top 10.
There will be some serious QB talent coming out in that draft. Delpit may slide due to that just like Minkah did this year.

Yeah Landon Collins is the best player on the Giants in my opinion.

He has 80% of the stats in "half" the time.
You do the math.

ESPN latches onto these guys when they have immediate impacts at big schools so they can market the sport around them.
Minkah was overrated in college. He was AMAZING. But still overrated.
ETA: Landon was another one. He was a bit overrated while at Alabama.

Even if you watch every game I doubt you’ve actually studied the tape of both players. The plays happen so fast, there is so much going on, and we don’t see the All-22 cameras so there’s little chance you could accurately evaluate every single play of both players as the game happens.
I know PFF isn’t the end all be all but they actually study all these plays. And again the the primary reason they don’t like Delpit as much as Thompson and 2 other SEC guys is because they have him as missing 13 tackles.
