The thread is past based.
However, upvote for the humor you intended it to be.

Technically he offered him. A preferred walk on spot. He offered the scholarship to the kicker seen here:
I'm not sure that kicker was who you thought it was. Regardless, in the kid's defense, he can't be blamed for that. The Kick was a hail marry that not even Saban expected him to make.
The Kick was long, and it was fairly straight. However, it was out of his range (barely) and there were only slow guys on over the bammer side. That play, while fricking awesome, was not on the kid, it was on the coaches.
I feel for the kid as he will see replays of it for the rest of his life.
Not on him

They should put Daniel Carlson's little brother on the back of his jersey

Yes it is. It's exactly who I think it is.
Saban offered Adam Griffith (who kicked the Kick Six) a scholarship, and Daniel Carlson a walk on spot.
Carlson was a redshift in 2013 because we still had Cody Parkey.

I said "not sure". No need to get defensive.
I thought there was a possibility that the moved a freshman up due to leg strength.

If you think that was defensive then you're either a little too sensitive or can't read people at all over text
no hard feelings bud, just letting you know that I knew exactly what I was talking about

Blair Walsh and Billy Bennett both still sit atop the SEC points record with 412 and 409, respectively.
Bennett also owns the SEC record for FGs mad at 87 (Carlson would need 18 to tie this season).
Kevin Butler was also the first kicker ever inducted in the CFB Hall of Fame back in 2001.
However, Carlson is probably going to run away with the FG% record this year.

Carlson has 354 right now, so he should run away with the SEC record.
He could fairly easily end up around 5th in NCAA history. 25 FG and 50 xp would put him in 5th.
The NCAA record is 530 points by former Navy QB Keenan Reynolds.
The record for kickers is 494 by Zane Richardson of Arizona State, who actually just graduated last year and beat out Carlson for the Groza.
So career highs for Carlson are 57 xp and 28 FG (although he had two partially blocked so probably would've been 30). The 28 and 57 would be enough to edge out Zane Richardson by exactly 1 point, but still only 4th all-time.
After that he'd need another 4 points to pass Montee Ball for 3rd all-time.
It's highly unlikely, but possible for Carlson to set the NCAA record. He'd need to set new career highs in literally everything.
This is what it would take for Carlson to be the new all-time NCAA scoring leader:
35 FG, 60 xp, 2 rush TD (he does have one last year

All that and he still would only beat out Keenan Reynolds by 1 point with 531 all time.

Going to be tough since LSU isn't on our schedule three times this year but it will be close.
To your point, there have been many great kickers over the years. I'm happy that Carlson will be included with them.

He's up there if he isn't. Wish we could have someone just half as good.

Leigh Tiffin was the last clutch PK Alabama has had and his last year was the '09 season.

frick. I still don't understand how we fricked that up. Yeti brothers that are badass kickers, who grew up with a fricking dog named Bear, and they go to Auburn?

Because we're better than you. Maybe they wanted an actual education that's worth something.

Just for the record. The worst engineer I've ever met or worked for, was an Auburn engineer. I've never seen some run an inspection department into the ground like ol Charles.

Possible.
Al Del Greco played almost 2 decades in the NFL.
I'm sure there are others who had long NFL careers.
Tony Franklin played at Texas A&M.
Spurrier kicked a FG to beat AU in 1966.
