I've seen it mentioned on message boards several times over the years via a google search. Saw it on twitter today.

Seems weird and something that ought to have been considered before hiring him. They're a glorified cult/scheme dressed up as a religion. Can't imagine that will play well with people around these parts. Of course, who knows if it is true.

Yikes, maybe he's trying to get his recruits into Scientology and is creeping them out

Why did Auburn hire this weirdo??

Can’t find any evidence of that anywhere. But who cares?

Hope so, but I believe he is a Christian.

Buddy, you sensitive. Some UT Longhorns message board users mentioned it several times in the 2010s and he was their OC in the late Mack Brown days. The twitter user I saw the rumor retweeted from is admittedly a shite-stirrer but there is some smoke just from a cursory google search by me.

I'm having trouble opposing your viewpoint.

Taken at face value, OP's post is completely accurate.

There's no real evidence, but if you simply google his name and scientologist you'll get a whole bunch of hits from message boards from 2010 up through last year.

They virtually all have one thing in common - they're on or linked from Texas Longhorns message boards. It would appear some UT fans started them to explain how they lost him to Arkansas State.

If he’s a religious man, I’d be surprised if he’s not Mormon. There’s a good number of them in Boise and Idaho.

I googled Harsin and religion and read a few articles and didn’t find anything about his religion…which is refreshing to me after 8 years of Gus & Kristi.

Sounds like the same nonsense as we heard about Mullen and I don’t think that’s true either.

I could see people trying to use that to negatively recruit in the Bible Belt though.

Blows my mind that asking a question and letting people what I've found out about it before asking the questions is equivalent to saying that I believe the man is a scientologist. Figured some keyed in Auburn fan on here would be like "nah he goes to First Baptist, the Catholic church, etc in Opelika."

I love the trend in the SEC of just accusing the weird new guy of being a Scientologist though

We've had a sudden influx of new Texas posters on this site.

Maybe they can shed some light on this?

(I'm sure they're all 100% legit.)

Maybe Tom Cruise can help his recruiting efforts.
