You're also assuming Gus accepts the job

Well he applied for the job so I assume he would have taken it if offered.

Whew, you redeemed yourself when you posted this. I see you understand my point. By the way, Gus will get that money at Auburn...

Oh, so you accept all jobs you apply for? Interesting.

Way too early to tell. In terms of ability and coaching style, there's no reason to believe he is. The main question is what coach wouldn't be in a bit over his head in the current SEC-W? Petrino had some nice success, but you always got the sense he was living on borrowed time, with some good quarterbacks and excellent receivers managing to cover for the fact that Arkansas was thin, and getting thinner, in other areas. I'm not sure Arkansas would have been able to tear away enough talent to stay competitive even if Petrino hadn't dumb-dong-ditched his motorcycle and his special lady friend, not with Alabama and LSU getting stronger, TAMU joining, and Ole Miss and Auburn experiencing a resurgence (a better coach and more talent for Ole Miss and a coach that wasn't a complete retard to go with the already-strong talent for Auburn.)

Short answer...who knows? Even Saban or Carroll would struggle a bit at Arkansas right now.

So, say Bielema gets fired in 2 or so years. Who will be at the top of your wish list hog fans? Art Briles? Paul Petrino?

Would be the only coaches who could make Arkansas a true football power, along with Harbaugh.

Even a coach of Gus' caliber has to apply to safety schools

He is a coach worth firing. Upgrade talent a little - then fire. Happens all the time. Dooly - he was expendable. Sherman - he was expendable. Nobody thought these guys were the answer. The fill a need. Get a bad coach fired - get a little momentum. Not much - but clean up the roster. Then when they get it where it is workable you can them and bring in a ringer - who would not have come without the talent.

But - Dude gets paid. I assume everybody knows this.

Meh any job except maybe Mississippi St and Vandy you can recruit elite talent to IF you hire the right coach and staff. Hugh Freeze is proving this. Arky is capable of recruiting top 10 classes. Bielema is just a horrible recruiter, look at his Wisconsin classes, they always ranked in the 50's or 60's. Before Spurrier came here our recruiting was flat out horrible and everyone said it's impossible to recruit here.
Arky needs to hire a coach with Texas ties (ART BRILES).

Bielema is a bad fit at AR, for the quality of talent they get.

It is much easier to mask the talent AR recruits with a spread offense, look at Briles and Gundy.

Bielema offenses won't ever look much different than his this year IMO.

What are you talking about? Most people apply for multiple jobs at a time; you don't always accept the job even though you applied for it. His agent knew what he was doing.

You're not very quick are you? It's laughable you couldn't comprehend what I was stating in my prior post.

You really think he would have turned down his dream job plus an extra $1 million per year? Come on man.

I doubt it's his dream job now, not with the shite slinging within the fan base. Again, you're assuming Arky offers him a million more.

That is speculation. Why do you think Arky would pay Gus 3m were he offered the job from Arky State?

Well we can obviously afford it, considering we're paying Bielema that. If we got into a bidding war with Auburn ( ) we would have offered more than you can.

But we didn't offer him. So he went to Auburn. I feel like I'm teaching kindergarten.
