It would go down as one of if not the worst loss in Bama history.
No doubt.

On par with the 1989 AU win
The 1989 game would not be able to hold a candle to an upset this year. For some reason people forget that AU was 10-2 that year. AU was a very good football team.

Yup, Auburn actually won the SEC title that year. Alabama was #1 like you said but Auburn was a top 20 team and the game was played in Auburn for the first time ever so its not like Auburn was a huge underdog. Auburn was 7-3 in 1982, and it was a pretty big upset because it was pat dyes second year and bama had won 10 straight but it still was not that big of an upset. I can't off the top of my head think of an iron bowl upset that would compare to an Auburn victory this year.

In 1989, there was a 3 way tie for the SEC title. AU, Bama, and can't remember the 3rd team (UT maybe)? It was AU's third straight SEC title. The only reason AU did not go to the Sugar Bowl was they went in 87 and 88 and back then the unwritten policy was to take a team that had not been for the longest time period or the highest ranked as there were no tie breakers

Yeah it was Tennesee they finshed 6-1 in conference along with us and bama. Bama lost to us and Tennesse lost to bama and we lost to tennesse so it was a true three way tie. Bama probably lists the title as unshared though because we made them play us in Auburn that year and thats not fair.
