The Iron Bowl will be a joyous time for Bama fans or the most miserable defeat ever for their fan base. I can't imagine how Bama fans would handle losing a 7th time at home to Auburn while being ranked #1. If it happens Tubbs will survive to coach another year. Complete insanity.

I would go down as one of if not the worst loss in Bama history. On par with the 1989 AU win.

Pretty doubtful though. We will see next week if AU is likely to have any chance whatsoever. We rested most of our D yesterday. Marks and Coleman our two best players did not even dress out. Tubs said he rolled the dice not dressing or playing so many starters, but just trying to get the team rested for the two that count. By the way, Burns had a career day with over 300 yards offense by himself. I know agianst a D2 team, but it will help his confidence - this was only his third game as the full time starter.

I thought we were playing our starters for that game... if we didn't that makes me feel slightly better. We played them way to close in the first three quarters for comfort.

We did play our starters and I agree too close, but Marks and Coleman are pretty much our best on the D-line and probably on the D as a whole and neither dressed out I am almost positive.

ETA: Just checked, we did not play 3 D-line starters (hence no pass rush whatsoever) and Rhoads said we were as vannilla as can be, only running 3-4 calls on D all day.

If we can keep the UGA game close I say we have a chance against Bama. If UGA blows us out, our team will quit.

What up with all the Aubs on this LSU site? Is it a "tiger thing"?

But yeah... if Auburn beats Alabama this year, it'll be the worst loss in my memory (46 years).

I'd have a mental breakdown if Auburn beat us. I'd quit my job, walk out on my lease and drive to the mountains to live off the land and never watch football again.

If Auburn beats us, I will fricking lose it.

I don't think an Auburn or Bama team will ever quit playing hard in the Iron Bowl.

I expect Bama to win but I also expect an effort like LSU gave yesterday from Auburn. They'll be fired up especially if they need the game to be bowl eligible. No senior wants to go out with their last game being a loss to Bama.

AU will certainly play as hard as we are capable of playing, but if our offense just goes 3 and out constantly, it will not matter as Bama will put points on the board.

This year, honestly, Auburn doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell against Alabama. Having said that, I wouldn't fire Tubby. Just get him to consider some new assistants, so you can get a decent OC. Tubby's a great "CEO" type coach, but his good ole' boys have outworn their welcome on the Plains.

Just like Stanford didn't have a snowball's chance in hell against USC? Or Appalachian State against Michigan? Or how the about the 1972 or 2002 Iron Bowls when Auburn didn't have a snowball's chance in hell to beat Alabama? Never count any team out.
