I'll be the first to admit I'm betting solely on the number. I've seen bits and pieces of Baylor beating up on the little sisters of the poor of the Big 12. Top 25 ranking don't mean shite to me when it comes to CBB.

+14.5 just seems like what you give a bottom dwelling team facing a top-end team. Not a team that can make a ballgame of it. Auburn could be getting their arse kicked 99% of the game and still cover that number at the end. Seems like good value to me.

When Auburn loses by 13, I'll be here with my doublebirds for all the douchebags in the thread.

I expect us to keep it somewhat close for a while. Gotta have some hot shooting from 3. If we go cold from outside it’s gonna be a long day

Yeah but 14 points is a shite ton to give to a basketball team that’s been pretty solid for years now

Oklahoma State was pretty good and was up early in the second half, and Baylor still won by 15 on the road.

Davion Mitchell is one of the best defensive guards in the country. He'll give Cooper a lot of trouble today. Our offense is terrible when Cooper isn't effective. I don't like this matchup for Auburn.

I don't expect to win and we could easily be blown out of the gym, but I think we could cover. I'm honestly thinking we have a shot to win if we play our best game.

FWIW, the line hasn't changed even though by far most of the bets are in on Baylor. You can make of that what you will. Outta be pretty close to the betting line either way.

Take AU and the points, and don't be surprised if we beat them straight up, provided the refs don't make sure Baylor wins.
With Sharife Cooper, AU can play with anybody.
If he gets hurt or in foul trouble we are screwed. We have no other viable option at PG with Powell still out.
Go look at our stat lines from before and after he started playing if you are a numbers guy.
You can throw out everything prior to the last 6 games when judging AU's team now.

You wouldn’t know it by listening to the commentators on ESPN but Auburn is in fact an average basketball team.

I would like to see us play Gonzaga again now that we have Cooper on the floor.

I don't think Auburn is just average...

They are a good team, not great, but good.

Arkansas was just a tough match up for them, and our double teaming cooper was the answer in the last game.

We lost by gazillioons to LSU and Bama... Whew... TY Auburn

Y'all couldn’t handle a Hogs team in the midst of a midseason collapse. I don’t know where this “Auburn is good” narrative is coming from.

If we had Powell in the lineup to shore up our outside game and take some pressure off of Cooper and the dribble drive, I would like our chances to cover better but without him we aren't consistent enough from behind the arc to stay in the game and stave off runs. And when Cooper goes out of the game we fall apart. Without Powell we dont even have a serviceable facsimile of a point guard. Thor needs to bring the hammer today too if we're going to have a chance at an upset.

Exactly. Arkansas is not good and Auburn made them look like 1990 UNLV twice. I guess I should give them a chance against a different opponent.

Go crawl back in your pig sty.
Adults are trying to have a conversation here.
BTW, you can thank the refs for saving your asses against us. Without their help in that 2nd half, you lose.

Arkansas had been playing like a junior high girls team until Auburn got them back on track. I hope y’all win out though. That would be good for the Hogs.

Not gonna happen. We are too young and haven't learned "how to win" yet.
If we put it all together on a given night (Missouri), we can beat anyone, if we play out of control and pressing trying to do too much (Baylor), we cannot.
That said, as poorly as we shot the ball and the amount of TO's, we still were pushing to get it to single digits with about 2 min. to play before that BS intentional foul that put it away. Also, it was one of those games where we missed a lot of open shots, and it seemed Baylor got every tipped rebound and loose ball to fall their way. AU made a lot of bad passes, and poor decisions, (often caused by Baylor playing good D). It happens though, and is part of growing pains for a young team.
I will say this...if Cooper comes back next year, Powell is OK, and the rest of the team returns along with adding Smith, we will be a legit Final 4 contender.

BTW no offense on the pig sty comment, just taking a swing at you for fun since you are a piggie.
