Call him whatever you want, but he took a struggling football team and made it the most valuable sports franchise on the planet.
Not hard to do when you look at the population of Texas, and Dallas was probably already one of the most valuable franchises before he bought them...
I mean Tom Landry was a legend at that point, and they had already had many legendary players play there like Staubach, Dorsett, Bob Lilly, Randy White, Ed Too Tall Jones, Harvey Martin. I mean there was a huge list of players with national name recognition before Jerry ever was thought of at Dallas. They had already won Super Bowls and had a major following. It's not like he took over the Oilers and made them the richest sports franchise, that would have been a major accomplishment.
The only thing he got right was hiring Jimmy Johnson, then he probably made the most terrible decision in the history of sports by running Jimmy off while he was in his prime. He was good for at least 2 more Super Bowls easily.

It blows my mind that Dak Prescott will make over $400 million by the time his career/contracts are done.
He deserves it wasting his career on the sorry Cowboys organization.

The Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys problems are leadership problems
You can win a natty at Texas with the right coach.
But at the end of the day, texas this year could right their wrongs and win out.
Make the playoffs etc

A lot of y'all missed his point. It's not a good point, but let's at least engage with the actual thing.
He's not saying Arch in college is comparable to Dak in college.
He's saying that Arch is on a trajectory to function in college the way Dak has functioned in the pros relative to Dak's lack of success and its downstream effects.
It's a dumbass point presented in a dumbass way. But that's what he means.

They're actually the exact opposite.
Dak has spent his entire Dallas career as a good QB surrounded by crap talent.
Arch is a terrible QB surrounded by great talent.
But, hey, there's no law against being stupid, so you're safe.

I would trade Reed for Manning in the blink of an eye.

Dak is a huge problem.
MAYBE this year. MAYBE. But not definitive.
And definitely NOT for the past 9 years. The talent around him has always been questionable, and the defense has been outright terrible more often than not (this year, for example).
