I just think that the focus on Alabama's D is amusing. Our D is going to get their stops.
Can LSU's defense stop Alabama's offense? We're averaging more points per game than LSU is; heck, in our last four games we're averaging 47.5 points per game. LSU has gained only 17.8 yards more per game than Alabama's offense; however, Alabama's defense has given up 70.8 yards less per game. This is despite Alabama being #2 in both KO and Punt returns in the SEC.
So, pardon me for not wetting myself at the thought of playing LSU.

Sacks are over-rated.
Fans like them of course but at the end of the day they are simply a means to an end.
What good is getting a ton of sacks if you give up a ton of big plays and TD's.
The primary goal of a defense is to stop the offense from scoring, all other considerations are secondary and to support that goal.

I really hope you aren't saying Bama's offense is as good as lsu's.

A far worse lsu offense was pretty successful at moving the ball against a better bama defense Last year.

I thought you weren't talking to me. Bama didn't have to worry about Mett running last year and couldn't get to him. That was with a patch work oline. Throughout Saban's tenure , Bama's def has never been predicated on pressure.
Alabama will score lots of points against LSU. The big question is which Mett shows up?
He can make the throws, but can he read the defense? Ole Miss' safeties just ran to the spot where they knew he was going to throw. If he does that against Alabama, he'll have to be dead nuts on.

You really think there is a big separation or something?

Bama's offense scores more points on average than LSU's offense. The objective of offense is to score points. Bama O > LSU O.

We shut down Virginia Tech, and they are absolutely lethal. Hell, they almost beat Duke.

When did I say it was a huge separation? Lsu's offense is better though.

I respect the hell out of bama. I pull for bama in every game except the first weekend in Nov.

Your question to the previous poster showed that you seem think it is an unreasonable opinion that Alabama's offense is as good as LSU's. That indicates you think there is at least a noticeable objective separation. I'm not sure that's the case. Alabama scores slightly more points a game overall while LSU gains slightly more yards overall.
Of course the schedules aren't the same so it's hard to compare apple to apples. In fact there is only one common opponent so far (many more coming in the final weeks) but Alabama's offense slightly outperformed LSU's offense in the games against Ole Miss in yards and points.
Not sure why it seems so clear cut that LSU's offense is better? Simlar QBs, LSU has the best tandem of WRs but Alabama's WR depth is better, LSU has the most productive RB but Alabama has two in the top 10 right now that are more than making up for that. Offensive lines? Hard to measure, but Alabama has given up half as many sacks and has a higher yards per rushing attempt.
I think they actually look very similar offensively.

It's just been so long since LSU fans got to watch an offense, their minds are blown when they score a TD. Must be the best offense in the SEC, right? They SCORED.

I do pull for bama every game but lsu. I lived in Decatur for 2.5 years during high school and have tons of bama fans I'm close to. Two bama fans I consider my brothers and have been best friends with for 20 years.
