Probably the same reason they finished ND at #4 ahead of A&M and UGA, which are probably 2 or 3 scores better...groupthink they can't shake.

Check out strength of schedule, and you can easily see that it was no comparison who should go to the BCS title game given that both were undefeated going into the bowls.
Well lets see
combined records
70-69
82-62
73-66
one team played 3 teams with records of 9 wins or more, the other 2 played 4.
one team played 3 top 15 teams, and the other two, two each
One team barely won two games against teams that finished with losing records, the other two, not so much
one team played a conference champion with a pulse, one didnt, the other didnt have a conference champion
People knocked AU because of citadel, despite oklahoma canceling th game with auburn for BGSU. It was a last minute add for AU

Just like Florida and all but one L.S.U. team

Like I said earlier, teams knock Alabama for losing in the regular season but fail to realize that they got clowned on at least once on their way to the title game. Only one that doesn't need to say that is Auburn.

not really, they often go hand-in-hand
Alabama 1961-1981 Dynasty
204-35-4, .847 win percentage
Six AP/UPI National Championships (out of 21 years)
125-19-1 vs SEC opponents
10 outright SEC Championships (3 others shared)
30 weeks as AP #1
0 Heismans
All this during a time in which the rest of the SEC won exactly 1 other Poll title (Georgia, 1980).
As a gee-whiz comparison...
2008-2012 Alabama Dynasty?
3 BCS National Championships (out of 5 years)
61-7, .897 win percentage
38-6 vs SEC opponents
2 outright SEC Championships
26 weeks as AP #1
1 Heisman
All this while the rest of the SEC won 2 other BCS National Championships (Florida 2008, Auburn 2010).
The current dynasty has a better percentage of national championship seasons, better overall win percentage, better conference win percentage, the same outright conference championship percentage, are ranked AP #1 more frequently, and has a Heisman to boot.
But it's not a dynasty according to an LSU fan on a troll board.

If not for Ohio St. being on post-season probation, Alabama doesn't even get a chance at a back to back BCS title.
We're going to have to take Florida State out of the dynasty conversation then. Auburn was on probation in 1993, went undefeated, and would have beaten anyone.

You used the word percentage 4 times, comparing a period of 5 years with a period of 21 years. It's not even the same universe man.
I said earlier 3/4 is a dynasty to me, fwiw.

In all fairness neither is anywhere close to prestigious. Actually, they are both somewhat shitty and easy to get in to

good stats to post
so Florida has been pretty mediocre in SEC play in that time span...except for the conference titles they've won

This thread is a joke in so many ways. bama fans being bama fans, LSU fans being LSU fans. Neither can stand each other, so what this whole thread boils down to is a pissing match over whose phrick is bigger. And neither side will concede. But what is factual is both coaches & teams respect each other, both knowing how good each team really is. Regardless of what the records may be, bama knows LSU is not afraid to play them anywhere & will always give it the best game of the year. LSU know this as well. Teams respecting each other is what counts in the real world. Course, TD has nothing to do with that world. I laugh at the stupidity of both fan bases when this subject comes up, as I've heard it going on 30 yrs now in some form or another.

UA ranked #32 public university.
LSU #67.

The BCS got it right.
So a team can go undefeated, win the SEC, and not make the championship game one year, but in a different year, not even win the SEC and still make it?
The BCS has been a miserable failure, hence we're getting a playoff...bottomline
You've got to be a complete idiot to still argue the BCS got anything right

I dont see how that is so hard to understand. Well I get why its so hard for you to understand.

It got the top 2 teams on the field to play for the championship every year. Seems like it worked just fine.
