Just another fan of a team not named Alabama who's hoping if he writes something it'll come true.

I think on some level it does bother Saban that his run with the Dolphins was mediocre but I don't think he wants to return to the NFL. And not sure any team would be willing to offer him a job after the Miami fiasco. I think he realized he is better suited for the college game and I believe his ambition now is to establish himself as one of the all-time great coaches in NCAA history. I think he wants to be mentioned in the same breath as Bryant, Paterno, Switzer, Woody Hayes, John McKay, etal. It is conceivable to me that based upon this year's success and the recruiting classes he has brought in that Bama could easily go on a run the next decade similar to what USC did under Pete Carroll. Only Saban will play for more NC's because the SEC strength of schedule usually lands them in the title game, 2004 Auburn notwithstanding.

Very well put. I don't see Saban leaving.

He is now competing with history, and that is driving him.

+10000000000 I would think by now, that everyone knows that the "reporters" on Bleacher Report are just people that sign up to write articles...anybody can do it, and can write any ridiculous crap they want to write.

After the crushing loss of the Cowboys yesterday, Wayde Phillips is getting canned and Saban is Dallas bound.

Done deal, and according to my sources Saban will make the announcement the day after NSD, the same day Meyer retires.

Sorry BAMA. I'm sure it was fun while it lasted.

If Dolphins had picked Drew Brees instead of Culpepper--he would still be at Miami. He was one bad pick from staying in the NFL--I really believe it came down to that.
