until Richardson pulls a heisman trophy home, it's hard to say that he'll have as good a college career.

Rediculous....

Many amazing backs including probably the best backs out of Bama never won the Heisman!

Signed,
Bobby Humphries and Shaun Alexander....

ridiculous... fify

also... i'm not saying it would really take a heisman trophy for me to crown richardson as "better.." which is what this entire thread is about, but my POINT with that statement was rather to point out that Mark Ingram got a heisman freaking trophy. that's one of the most sought after trophies in any sport.

basically, it's going to take one HELL of a career to top Ingram's.

Richardson >> Ingram. Period. And he was better by mid season last year also.

Richardson just refuses to lose yards, and thats what I love about him.

Understand... he gets dubbed as a heisman trophy winner..... no easy feat.

probably should have gone to Colt McCoy but thats another debate.

But, Ingram was only a sophmore and TR was a freshman so its all samantics. So there is alot of FB left to play.

However,

What I am trying to say is... From a topic comparison,

Kevin Faulk is second on the all time rushing yards list in the history of the SEC and first in all purpose until Timmy Tebow came along and you can see from the thread comparision point that though Faulk never got a Heisman, he gets more press from the LSU than that of Billy Cannon.

Thats be cause he shattered every runnning back record at LSU.

Trent could do the same... break every rushing record at AL and still not win a Heisman.

So... to me the jury is still out.

No shite! I personally can't wait to see Lacy get in the mix. With most of the OL returning, the running game will be fun to watch.

yeah.......both guys are still young and have alot of career left. IMO Richardson is better, so next year will be interesting to see who gets the more carries. Granted both guys will get plenty.

another thing to think about too is that we haven't seen Richardson get a 25+ carries game... when we see that he can keep trucking out all those yards just like Ingram, then the debate gets to go further. and in all obviousness, i have zero doubts that he can keep knocking those yards down, but i'm just saying it's hard to fully argue this debate due to a lack of circumstantial evidence.

in the end, the numbers will tell us all we need to know.
