Only thing that surprises me is Oklahoma. Seems like 80% of OU and Okie Lites players are from Texas. Hard to believe that they are rated higher than La, Penn, and Illinois. Three pretty strong recriuting areas.

One day, Texas might be known just as much for its quarterbacks as its running backs. Drew Brees has become a superstar in the NFL, and Robert Griffin III, Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford and Christian Ponder are promising young starters.

A group of Texas-bred quarterbacks, at some point, might rival the state's history of great running backs: Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, Billy Sims, Doak Walker, Thurman Thomas, LaDainian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson.
QBs by state
A state-by-state breakdown of where the 32 starting QBs in the NFL in Week 11 played their high school football:
Texas 9
California 6
Louisiana 2
Missouri 2
Oklahoma 2
Pennsylvania 2
Alabama 1
Arizona 1
Georgia 1
Mississippi 1
New Jersey 1
Virginia 1
Wisconsin 1

Yes, for a smaller state, Alabama has stayed above average throughout.

There are what, 30 million people in Texas?

I'd hope you have some good athletes. Now per capita............that's a different story.

Texas, Florida and California. So all college football players are Hispanic.

That's racist.

aTm fans hope Mack Brown sticks around for another 30 years. He can have whoever he wants and still manages to try to turn Heisman winners into defensive backs.

Texas may have tons of talent, but UT will always get first crack at all of them.

This. The deep south puts out the most NFL players per capita, and Louisiana is #1 (behind Washington DC).

States with most NFL players per capita:
1) DC
2) Louisiana
3) Mississippi
4) Alabama
5) Florida
6) South Carolina
7) Georgia
8) Hawaii
9) Texas
10) Montana

This is not even close to true. Look at '13 and '14 recruiting rankings.
